Yamaha’s manual gives different weight and payload figures for the two variants, and a 2007 safety campaign covered 2005–2007 YP400s for a fuel-pump-seal defect. Check the exact variant and recall status of the individual scooter before buying parts or riding it.
What is the 2007 Yamaha Majesty?
Yamaha’s 2007 owner’s manual covers the YP400 and YP400A. It describes a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, DOHC, forward-inclined single-cylinder engine with 395.0 cm³ displacement, electric starting, wet-sump lubrication and automatic V-belt transmission. The reproduced manual is marked first edition, August 2006; specifications can differ by market, so check the scooter’s own labels and the correct market-specific manual.

The manual does not establish the equipment differences behind every regional variant, so these figures should not be used to infer a feature package.

These are specifications from Yamaha’s YP400/YP400A owner’s manual reproduction. Use the pressure and load limits in the manual for the correct market and scooter configuration.

What oil, spark plug and service items does the manual specify?
- Engine oil: SAE 10W-30, 10W-40, 15W-40, 20W-40 or 20W-50; API SG or higher and JASO MA. Capacity is 1.50 L without filter replacement or 1.70 L with filter replacement.
- Final transmission oil: SAE 10W-30 type SE motor oil; capacity 0.25 L.
- Spark plug: NGK CR7E, with a 0.7–0.8 mm gap.
Those are manual specifications, not an endorsement of a particular product or current parts listing. Confirm model-year and market fitment before ordering, and check the correct manual for service procedures and torque values.
Maintenance considerations
Yamaha describes its periodic-maintenance schedule as a general guide for normal riding and says intervals may need to be shortened for weather, terrain, location and use. The manual specifically calls for more frequent air-filter and V-belt-filter service in unusually wet or dusty conditions. It also says the Majesty is designed for paved roads.

- Check brake fluid regularly. The manual calls for replacement of internal master-cylinder and caliper components and brake fluid every two years.
- Replace brake hoses every four years, or sooner if damaged.
- The tool kit is intended for preventive maintenance and minor repairs; some correct repairs require additional tools, such as a torque wrench.
Yamaha recommends dealer service for owners who are unfamiliar with maintenance. These intervals and instructions come from the owner’s manual; follow the correct market-specific version for the scooter being serviced.
Check the 2005–2007 fuel-pump-seal recall before riding
Yamaha’s June 13, 2007 campaign covered 2005–2007 YP400 Majesty scooters. The company said ozone exposure could crack the fuel-pump seal; a severe crack could allow fuel to leak and increase fire or explosion risk. The stated remedy was seal replacement by an authorized Yamaha dealer at no charge. Yamaha’s owner notice said: “You should not ride your scooter until this modification is performed.”

The campaign bulletin does not show whether a particular used scooter received the repair. Contact Yamaha or an authorized dealer with the scooter’s vehicle identification information and ask them to confirm completion before riding. Do not treat buying and installing the seal yourself as an equivalent substitute for the recall remedy. The historical bulletin identifies the seal as part 5CA-2414G-01-00; that number is for campaign identification, not a recommendation to perform a retail repair.
