The 2007 Volvo C30 by Evolve was a one-off show car, not a factory trim or a production upgrade package. Unveiled at the 2006 SEMA show, it paired a sequential-twin-turbo five-cylinder engine with Volvo-attributed estimates of 507 hp and 468 lb-ft, a custom all-wheel-drive conversion, and extensive bespoke chassis and body work.
What was the 2007 Volvo C30 by Evolve?
Volvo described it as “a European spec version of Volvo’s youthful new C30” transformed by Evolve Cars Inc. into a Formula One-influenced street machine. The October 31, 2006 announcement explicitly calls it a one-off show car, so “2007” refers to the concept’s model-year specifications rather than a regular factory model year or trim. Volvo presented the Evolve car among three separately built modified C30s at SEMA in Las Vegas in 2006. The other cars were distinct projects; their parts and specifications should not be attributed to Evolve’s build. Volvo Cars global SEMA release
Engine and performance figures
Volvo’s concept specification sheet lists a 2,521 cc (2.5-liter) DOHC inline-five with sequential twin turbos, 9.0:1 compression, and a six-speed manual transmission. Volvo estimated output at 507 hp at 6,100 rpm and 468 lb-ft at 3,800 rpm, with 98-octane (R+M/2) race fuel specified. The official material gives no independent dyno report or verified road-test result for this Evolve car. A performance time reported for a different C30 build would not establish this concept’s acceleration.
What Evolve changed
Front-wheel drive converted to all-wheel drive
The project began with the C30’s front-wheel-drive layout and was converted to electronically controlled AWD using software Volvo attributed to Haldex. Volvo says the conversion required underbody modification to accommodate a driveshaft and installation of a rear differential. This was substantial custom fabrication, not a documented factory option or bolt-on kit.

Engine, cooling and exhaust
The build used custom turbo plumbing and a five-into-one header, catalytic converter and custom exhaust. Volvo also described a charged-air cooling arrangement integrated with the factory air-conditioning refrigerant system.
Body and aerodynamics
Evolve widened the rear bodywork and added an adjustable front splitter, roof spoiler and rear diffuser. These features were part of the bespoke show-car build.

Safety, suspension, brakes and wheels
Volvo said the car retained the C30’s standard safety systems and added a welded six-point chrome-moly safety structure. The specification sheet lists adjustable bespoke front and rear suspension, a 14-piston front brake caliper, a six-piston rear caliper and large two-piece rotors. It also lists 19-inch wheels and concept-specific tire sizes, including a particularly wide rear tire. Those show-car dimensions and components are not evidence of stock C30 fitment or confirmed replacement compatibility.

No. Volvo’s announcement identifies the Evolve C30 as a one-off show car based on a European-spec production C30. The official material describes its custom systems but does not establish that the AWD conversion, engine package, brakes, suspension or bodywork were commercially available as a production kit. It also does not establish the car’s present location, condition or availability.

The useful distinction is between a production C30 T5 as a starting point and this heavily fabricated concept. Volvo’s reported 507-hp figure demonstrates what the Evolve show-car specification claimed; it is not a promise that a 2007 C30 T5 can reach that output through a standard set of upgrades.
