The 2007 Harley-Davidson FLHTCU is the standard Ultra Classic Electra Glide in Harley-Davidson’s Touring family. It uses the Twin Cam 96 engine and a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission. For maintenance, Harley-Davidson’s 2007 Touring owner’s manual records an initial service at 1,000 miles and recurring service intervals every 5,000 miles; use the correct manual for the actual tasks and specifications.
How to identify the 2007 FLHTCU
Harley-Davidson lists the 2007 Ultra Classic Electra Glide as model FLHTCU in the Touring family. The 2007 Touring owner’s manual identifies VIN model code FC with the FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Glide. Check the motorcycle’s VIN and configuration before ordering parts: the manual separately identifies other configurations, and the FLHTCU should not be confused with the FLHTCUSE2 Screamin’ Eagle/CVO model.
The manufacturer’s model listing names a Twin Cam 96 engine and six-speed Cruise Drive transmission. Harley-Davidson’s 2007 engine-family specification in a Dyna owner’s manual gives the Twin Cam 96 displacement as 96 cu. in. (1,584 cc) and describes it as a two-cylinder, four-cycle, 45-degree, air-cooled V-type. That is engine-family context, not an FLHTCU-specific specification table.
Which manual and service literature to use
The 2007 Touring owner’s manual covers operating instructions, safety information, maintenance records, service procedures, and literature references. For repair work, it names these publications:

Harley-Davidson says in the owner’s manual: “Factory authorized manuals are the most complete and detailed source of information outside of your Harley-Davidson dealer.” Confirm that any manual listing is the correct publication and explicitly covers the standard FLHTCU; CVO-specific literature is not a substitute.
2007 FLHTCU maintenance intervals
The 2007 Touring owner’s manual’s maintenance record lists the first service at 1,000 mi (1,600 km), followed by recurring service records every 5,000 mi (8,000 km). These are service-record milestones, not a complete description of the work required at each visit. Consult the correct manual for scheduled operations, fluids, and applicable conditions rather than inferring tasks from the intervals alone.

Harley-Davidson’s current authorized-service page lists services including oil and filter changes, tire replacement, brake-system flushes, brake-pad replacement, and selected parts or accessory installations. The page also directs owners to manuals, maintenance schedules, recall information, and dealer lookup.
Load limits and trailer warning
The owner’s manual defines GVWR as the maximum combined weight of the motorcycle, accessories, rider, passenger, and cargo. GAWR is the maximum safe load on each axle. The ratings are shown on the information plate on the frame down tube. Harley-Davidson warns that exceeding them can affect stability, handling, and performance.

The manual advises against towing a trailer with the motorcycle. It warns that towing can overload tires, damage or cause tire failure, reduce braking performance, and affect stability and handling.

Recall status cannot be established from the model name alone. Use Harley-Davidson’s recall-information lookup with the motorcycle’s VIN, and verify the VIN and configuration with a dealer or parts supplier when checking fitment. Parts, accessories, and equipment can vary by exact configuration.

What to compare when shopping for a used one
A model name and year do not establish an individual motorcycle’s condition. For a used FLHTCU, compare the evidence available for the specific bike:
- VIN and exact configuration, including whether it is the standard FLHTCU rather than a CVO variant.
- Maintenance records and evidence that scheduled service was completed.
- Drivetrain and transmission identification, plus brake and ABS equipment.
- Touring equipment, accessories, and any changes that may affect parts fitment.
- Parts availability for the specific configuration and the quality of supporting documentation.
Do not treat a dealer’s individual listing price or mileage as typical for all 2007 FLHTCUs; those details describe only that listing and can change.
