Harley-Davidson’s 2026 U.S. lineup has five official motorcycle categories: Cruiser, Grand American Touring, Sport, Trike, and Adventure Touring. The ten entries below are useful examples and subtypes within those families—not ten categories that Harley-Davidson officially names. Models and availability vary by market, so confirm the lineup and specifications on your local Harley-Davidson site before shopping.
1. Stripped-back Cruiser: Street Bob
The Street Bob is a stripped-back example of the Cruiser family, suited to riders drawn to a simpler, bobber-influenced look rather than extensive touring equipment. “Stripped-back” is Harley-Davidson’s characterization in its 2026 brochure; it is not a separate official category.
2. Vintage-styled Cruiser: Heritage Classic
The Heritage Classic represents the more vintage-styled end of the Cruiser range. It suits shoppers who prefer traditional styling and a touring-influenced presentation to the leaner look of a Street Bob. Both are Cruisers, despite their different design emphasis.
3. Performance-oriented Cruiser: Low Rider S
Harley-Davidson describes the Low Rider S as combining performance and touring influences. It is a useful example for riders who want a performance-oriented Cruiser rather than a dedicated long-distance touring model. That description reflects the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent riding assessment.

4. Touring-influenced Cruiser: Low Rider ST
The Low Rider ST also blends performance and touring influences, making it another Cruiser option for shoppers weighing a sportier look against touring-oriented design. Compare its actual equipment and configuration with the Low Rider S rather than assuming the two models are interchangeable.
5. Batwing-fairing touring motorcycle: Street Glide
Street Glide belongs to Harley-Davidson’s Grand American Touring category, which is intended for long-distance riding. Its batwing fairing distinguishes its styling from the Road Glide’s sharknose fairing. Storage, comfort, passenger accommodation, and equipment are also useful points to compare when choosing a touring model.

- Rubber tires & detailed exterior.
- Made of Die cast with some plastic parts
6. Sharknose-fairing touring motorcycle: Road Glide
Road Glide is another Grand American Touring model, with a sharknose fairing rather than the Street Glide’s batwing design. Fairing style is a visible way to tell these examples apart, but the available manufacturer information does not establish that either design is categorically safer or better. Touring variants include Limited and CVO models; these are variants within the touring family, not separate official categories.
7. Sport model with heritage: Nightster
The Nightster is part of Harley-Davidson’s Sport category, which draws on Sportster heritage while using the Revolution Max engine family. The manufacturer describes this range as featuring liquid cooling, selectable ride modes, and ride-tuned suspension. For the Nightster, the 2026 brochure lists 91 hp and a 27-inch seat height; these are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results, and local specifications may vary.

8. Larger-engine Sport model: Sportster S
Sportster S is another Sport-category example. Harley-Davidson distinguishes it from the Nightster with a larger 1250T engine. Compare the specific model’s equipment and published local specifications if engine size is central to your decision; the Sport category includes more than one model and configuration.
9. Three-wheel touring motorcycle: Road Glide 3
Road Glide 3 is a three-wheel touring motorcycle in the Trike category. The 2026 U.S. Trike lineup also includes Street Glide 3 Limited and CVO Street Glide 3 Limited. Harley-Davidson describes the 2026 lineup as redesigned, including changes to rear suspension and the reverse system. A three-wheel layout is a different configuration, not proof that no adaptation or training is needed.

10. Adventure Touring: Pan America 1250 Special or ST
Adventure Touring models are intended for on-road touring and off-road exploration. For 2026 in the U.S., the family includes Pan America 1250 Special, Pan America 1250 ST, and the new Pan America 1250 Limited. The Special is described with adaptable suspension and mixed-surface capability; the ST is more street tuned, with 17-inch wheels and a lower seat. Harley-Davidson’s brochure lists 150 hp for both the Special and ST, and seat-height settings of 31.1 and 32 inches for the Special. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Local specifications may vary, and local laws can regulate off-road riding.
