The 2024 Triumph Daytona 660 is a road-focused middleweight sport bike, not a track-only machine. Triumph’s launch materials describe a 660cc triple tuned for usable low- and midrange torque as well as high-rpm power, with a dedicated frame, three riding modes and suspension and brake hardware aimed at spirited road riding. Here are ten details from Triumph’s announcement, Q&A and media kit; they are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent test findings.

1. Triumph announced the Daytona 660 on 9 January 2024

Triumph introduced the bike as an all-new, triple-powered middleweight sports model. Its launch announcement framed the Daytona as a bike for engaging sports riding and everyday use, rather than presenting it as a track-only machine. Triumph’s launch announcement and its April 2024 Q&A describe it as road-focused and comfortable enough for everyday riding. Those are the manufacturer’s intended-use and comfort claims, not independent ride-test conclusions.

2. The 660cc triple’s headline output varies with the source’s units and rounding

Triumph published several closely aligned versions of the engine figures. They should be read as source-specific presentations, not as results from competing independent measurements.

Triumph source Published output
9 January 2024 US launch announcement 94 hp at 11,250 rpm; 51 lb-ft peak torque
2024 media kit 95 PS at 11,250 rpm; 69 Nm peak torque
8 April 2024 Q&A 93.6 hp; 50.8 lb-ft

Triumph emphasizes that the triple is intended to deliver both usable torque and high-rpm power. Its January announcement says more than 80% of peak torque is available from about 3,125 rpm; the April Q&A describes torque availability from just over 3,000 rpm through 12,000 rpm. These are Triumph’s published characterizations.

3. It has three riding modes, and Sport does not add peak power

The Daytona 660 offers Sport, Road and Rain modes. Triumph says the modes tailor throttle response and traction-control settings. Its Q&A says peak engine power remains unchanged between modes, so Sport is a different response and control setup rather than a higher-output engine setting.

4. Triumph says it is more than a faired Trident 660

In its Q&A, Triumph says the Daytona has its own frame and a significantly reworked version of the triple engine compared with the Trident 660. It also gives the Daytona sport-bike bodywork and a different riding position. This is the manufacturer’s comparison; the published material does not provide an independent teardown or a full, like-for-like comparison of the two motorcycles.

5. The riding position is presented as sporty but usable

Triumph lists an 810 mm (31.88-inch) seat height and describes a narrow stand-over, with handlebar and footpeg positions optimized for the bike. The company’s stated aim is to combine a sports-bike stance with everyday road usability. Whether that position suits a particular rider depends on their proportions and preferences; the manufacturer’s materials do not establish how it compares in comfort with rival models.

6. The April Q&A gives a wet weight of 443.1 lb

Triumph’s 8 April 2024 Q&A lists the Daytona 660 at 443.1 lb wet. Treat that as the manufacturer’s stated figure, not a weight measured in an independent test. The cited material does not establish a directly comparable weight for competing bikes under the same measurement convention.

7. The listed suspension and brakes are substantial road-bike hardware

Triumph’s launch announcement specifies 41 mm Showa upside-down big-piston front forks and a rear Showa unit with preload adjustment. It also lists twin 310 mm front discs with radial four-piston calipers and Michelin Power 6 tires. These are the components Triumph announced for the model; the specifications alone do not establish braking or handling performance against competitors.

8. Triumph Shift Assist is an accessory, not confirmed standard equipment

Triumph describes its Shift Assist as an accessory for the six-speed gearbox that allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts. The Q&A confirms the accessory category but does not establish a part number or fitment details. Check the current Triumph accessory listing and compatibility for the specific bike and market before purchasing.

9. The launch announcement lists a 10,000-mile service interval and two-year warranty

Triumph’s January 2024 announcement states a 10,000-mile service interval and a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty. These are launch-era manufacturer claims; owners should confirm the current service schedule, warranty terms and applicable conditions with Triumph for their country.

10. The published India launch price was market-specific and historical

Bajaj Auto announced an India ex-showroom starting price of ₹9,72,450 on 29 August 2024. That was a launch price for India, not a current price for all markets. Check a local Triumph dealer for present availability and pricing. The source is Bajaj Auto’s India launch announcement.

What Triumph’s claims do—and do not—establish

Triumph’s materials outline the Daytona 660’s intended road role, published specifications, equipment and ownership claims. They do not establish independent real-world performance, reliability, comfort, current inventory or present-day pricing. For comparisons with bikes such as the Honda CBR650R, Aprilia RS 660 or Yamaha R7, use equivalent market-specific specifications and independent tests rather than treating the Daytona’s launch copy as a class ranking.
