For U.S. buyers considering a touring motorcycle, the 2026 Honda NT1100 DCT combines a 1,084cc parallel twin with automatic transmission, adjustable wind protection, heated grips, cruise control and smartphone integration. Honda’s equipment list makes a strong touring case, though comfort and maneuverability still depend on the rider, and its luggage is optional.
Honda’s U.S. product page lists the 2026 NT1100 DCT at $11,999 MSRP plus a $775 destination charge, or $12,774 before taxes, registration and dealer-specific charges. That is a listed price, not an out-the-door quote. The points below are based on Honda’s specifications and product descriptions, not independent road testing.
Why the 2026 NT1100 DCT deserves a look
Honda introduced the NT1100 to the U.S. for model year 2025; its current U.S. listing is the 2026 NT1100 DCT. Honda’s March 2025 launch announcement listed a different starting MSRP of $11,899, so use the current model-year page when considering price. The model’s touring appeal comes from a combination of engine, transmission and comfort equipment rather than one defining feature.
Here are ten reasons the package may suit American riders who want one motorcycle for commuting and longer trips.

1. An Africa Twin-derived 1,084cc parallel twin
Honda specifies a 1,084cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. The company describes the NT1100’s engine as derived from the Africa Twin platform, an approach that gives the sport-tourer a recognizable adventure-bike connection without making the NT1100 itself an Africa Twin. Engine displacement and layout are manufacturer specifications; they do not, by themselves, establish acceleration, fuel economy or highway passing performance.
2. DCT offers automatic riding and paddle-shift control
The U.S. 2026 model is equipped with Honda’s six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Riders can use automatic operation or select gears manually with the handlebar paddle shifters. That flexibility may appeal to commuters who prefer not to operate a clutch in stop-and-go traffic, while manual mode gives riders control over gear selection. Honda’s documented U.S. offering is the DCT version; the sources cited here do not establish a U.S. manual-transmission trim.

3. A sport-tourer layout aimed at daily use and trips
Honda positions the NT1100 as a sport tourer, a category intended to combine road-oriented riding with touring practicality. That framing makes it relevant to riders who want to commute during the week and take longer rides without choosing a dedicated touring motorcycle. Whether its riding position and handling suit a particular person cannot be determined from the category name or equipment list alone.
4. A five-position windscreen with 6.5 inches of adjustment
The windscreen adjusts through five positions, with 6.5 inches of stated adjustment. Multiple positions let a rider alter the screen height to suit preferences and conditions. The specification does not establish how much wind reaches a rider, or whether the screen will prevent buffeting; those effects vary with rider height, helmet and riding conditions.

5. Heated grips and standard wind deflectors
Heated grips and wind deflectors are among the comfort features Honda lists for the NT1100. Heated grips can be useful when temperatures drop, while deflectors add another element to the bike’s wind-management setup. They are practical touring-oriented inclusions, but they are not a substitute for evaluating the motorcycle in the weather and riding conditions you expect to encounter.
6. Cruise control for steady highway riding
Honda lists cruise control as standard equipment. It can hold a chosen speed on suitable roads, reducing the need to maintain throttle input continuously. Riders should still follow road and traffic conditions and remain ready to control the motorcycle.

7. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration
The NT1100 supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving compatible phones a route to navigation and other supported apps through the motorcycle’s display. Honda also says wireless Bluetooth audio is supported with optional headsets. Phone compatibility, setup and the features available while riding depend on the device, connection and app.
8. A 5.4-gallon tank for touring flexibility
Honda lists fuel capacity at 5.4 gallons. A larger tank can mean fewer fuel stops than a smaller one under otherwise comparable conditions, but tank capacity alone cannot establish range. Honda’s cited U.S. materials do not provide a real-world fuel-consumption figure or a verified range, so riders should plan stops around their own consumption and route.

9. Passenger accommodations for two-up travel
Honda’s product materials show passenger seating and a grab rail, giving the NT1100 basic provisions for carrying a passenger. Two-up comfort depends on both riders’ fit and preferences; specifications alone cannot confirm how the seat will feel over a full day. If passenger touring matters, assess the seat and footpeg position together before buying.
10. Optional luggage can add touring capacity
Honda offers panniers as optional accessories, not standard equipment. Its features page gives approximate capacities of 33 liters for the left pannier and 32 liters for the right. Honda also lists an optional top case. Verify model-year fit and current availability with a dealer, and include the cost of any luggage in your budget; the cited materials do not state current accessory prices.
Check fit, equipment and cost before choosing
The 2026 U.S. NT1100 DCT has a listed curb weight of 547 pounds and a seat height of 32.3 inches. Those figures make a dealer sit test especially useful: reach to the ground and low-speed handling are personal considerations, not outcomes that can be inferred from a spec sheet.
- Confirm that you want a DCT motorcycle and are comfortable with its automatic and paddle-shift modes.
- Check windscreen positions and riding posture from your own seat; screen adjustment does not guarantee a particular wind experience.
- If you plan to tour with a passenger, assess seat and footpeg comfort together.
- Price the luggage you need separately because the panniers and top case are optional.
- Use Honda’s listed $12,774 total as a pre-tax, pre-registration reference, then ask a local dealer for an out-the-door quote and current availability.
