1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIf resale value is a priority, start with the 2026 Toyota Tacoma: Kelley Blue Book projects it will retain 63.0% of its original MSRP after five years, the highest figure among the pickup models in KBB’s 2026 overall top ten. The 2026 Toyota Tundra, Ford Maverick and Ford Ranger also appear in that group. These are projections, not guaranteed resale prices—and the best choice depends on the truck’s class and the work you need it to do.
How to read the resale-value figures
Kelley Blue Book’s 2026 Best Resale Value estimates are projected five-year residual values expressed as a percentage of original MSRP. KBB says its analysts review statistical models built on millions of transactions. The award assumptions include a vehicle in average condition with 75,000 miles at the end of five years and projected future auction values. See KBB’s award methodology and results.
On that awards page, KBB puts the average new vehicle’s value after 60 months at 44.7% of its original sticker price. That is a broad benchmark, not a forecast for any particular truck. Actual resale depends on mileage, condition, supply and demand, market conditions, and the vehicle’s configuration and purchase price.
Other sources can produce markedly different estimates. iSeeCars says its 2026 truck analysis covers more than 3 million vehicles and compares new MSRP with the price of an equivalent five-year-old used vehicle. Its figures are not interchangeable with KBB’s projections. The lists below keep each source’s results separate rather than combining them into a single rank.

Four pickups in Kelley Blue Book’s 2026 overall top ten
KBB’s 2026 list includes four trucks. The figures below are KBB’s projected five-year residual values for those model years—not a strict ranking of every pickup on the market.
| Truck | KBB 2026 projected value after five years | Pickup category award |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 Toyota Tacoma | 63.0% of original MSRP | Midsize pickup winner |
| 2026 Toyota Tundra | 59.9% of original MSRP | Full-size pickup winner |
| 2026 Ford Maverick | 54.1% of original MSRP | Compact pickup winner |
| 2026 Ford Ranger | 53.4% of original MSRP | Not listed as a KBB pickup-category winner |
KBB’s category winners are the Tacoma, Tundra and Maverick for midsize, full-size and compact pickups, respectively. The Ranger makes KBB’s overall top ten, but KBB does not name it the midsize winner. See KBB’s 2026 award results and its 2026 Best Resale Value announcement.

Other trucks recognized in separate resale-value views
These candidates broaden the list across truck sizes and markets, but the available figures do not establish a universal, apples-to-apples top ten. Use each estimate only within the source and category that produced it.
Toyota Tacoma and Tundra: iSeeCars estimates
In its separate 2026 truck analysis, iSeeCars estimates five-year resale values of 80.5% for the Toyota Tacoma and 80.3% for the Toyota Tundra, naming them leaders in their midsize and full-size classes. These estimates differ substantially from KBB’s 2026 figures for the same model names because the sources use different datasets and methods. Do not average the percentages or treat them as competing guarantees. See iSeeCars’ truck resale-value rankings.

Ford Maverick: iSeeCars estimate
iSeeCars estimates the Ford Maverick will retain 68.2% of its value after five years in its 2026 small/compact truck results. This is iSeeCars’ estimate, not a revision to KBB’s 54.1% projection for the 2026 Maverick.
Ram 3500: heavy-duty choice
iSeeCars names the Ram 3500 its heavy-duty leader at 79.8% in its 2026 truck results. The Ford F-350 Super Duty is close at 79.6%; iSeeCars also reports 75.7% for the Ford F-250 Super Duty and 74.9% for the Ram 2500. These figures belong to the heavy-duty comparison, where towing and payload needs, purchase prices and buyer use cases differ from those of compact, midsize and full-size light-duty trucks. Compare heavy-duty models with one another, not as direct substitutes for the smaller pickups.

Chevrolet Colorado: Canadian award context
Canadian Black Book’s 2025 Small/Mid Pickup retained-value awards place the Chevrolet Colorado third, behind the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Maverick. This is a Canadian-market award ranking, not a U.S. percentage estimate, so it should not be merged with KBB’s U.S. projections or iSeeCars’ figures. See Canadian Black Book.

Choose the truck that meets your requirements first, then use resale estimates to compare plausible options in the same class. A high projected percentage cannot make an undersized, overpriced or unsuitable truck a good purchase.
- For a compact pickup: Consider the Ford Maverick. KBB names it the 2026 compact pickup winner, and iSeeCars also identifies it as its small/compact leader, though their estimates are not directly comparable.
- For a midsize pickup: The Toyota Tacoma is the clearest choice across the cited views: KBB names it its 2026 midsize winner, while iSeeCars names it its midsize leader.
- For a full-size pickup: The Toyota Tundra is KBB’s 2026 category winner and iSeeCars’ full-size leader. Compare it with alternatives based on the capability and configuration you actually need.
- For heavy-duty work: Start with the Ram 3500, Ford F-350 Super Duty, Ford F-250 Super Duty and Ram 2500 in iSeeCars’ heavy-duty results; the reported estimates do not make them interchangeable.
- If considering the Ford Ranger: It appears in KBB’s overall top ten, but is not KBB’s midsize category winner. Its inclusion is useful context, not evidence that it leads its class.
What to check before choosing a resale-focused truck
Resale forecasts describe a model-level expectation under stated assumptions. Your eventual sale or trade-in offer will reflect the specific vehicle and the market at that time. Before choosing, compare the trucks that fit your needs on:
- Cab and bed configuration, trim and powertrain
- Towing and payload requirements, using current manufacturer specifications for the exact configuration
- Purchase price, discounts and local availability
- Expected ownership period, annual mileage and likely condition when you sell
KBB notes that vehicles with strong resale projections tend to receive smaller discounts and attract strong consumer interest. That pattern does not establish that every example will sell for a particular amount, or that a high-retention model is the best overall value for every buyer. When evaluating a specific truck, check current local values and comparable listings rather than relying on a national projection alone.
