They are U.S.-market, model-year-specific examples ranging from the 2017 Honda Accord Sedan to the 2025 Lexus ES 350.
Nine use stepped automatic transmissions; the 2023 Nissan Maxima is the exception, pairing its naturally aspirated V6 with an Xtronic CVT. In every case, verify the exact engine and trim because the broader model family may include other powertrains.

The naturally aspirated V6 was not limited to old muscle cars. As recently as the 2025 model year, buyers could still find sedans with a naturally aspirated V6, a conventional stepped automatic transmission, and no turbocharger. The 10 U.S.-market examples below span mainstream, near-luxury, luxury, and rear-wheel-drive performance-oriented cars.

There is one important transmission exception: the 2023 Nissan Maxima used a naturally aspirated V6 with Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission rather than a conventional stepped automatic. Also, these are specific model-year and engine configurations—not claims that every trim or engine in each nameplate avoided turbocharging.

1. 2024 Toyota Camry V6
The 2024 Toyota Camry is the newest mainstream example on this list and the final eighth-generation Camry model year offered with a V6. Its 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 produced 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, sent through an eight-speed Direct Shift automatic. V6-powered grades included the Camry TRD.
The Camry is a useful reminder that Toyota did not simply turbocharge every version of its long-running sedan. The model also offered four-cylinder and hybrid powertrains, so a used-car shopper must confirm that a particular car is actually a V6. The next-generation Camry moved to hybrid four-cylinder powertrains, making the 2024 V6 especially significant for buyers who want a recent Camry without turbocharging or a hybrid system.
2. 2022 Toyota Avalon
The 2022 Toyota Avalon was the final U.S. model year for Toyota’s full-size, premium-oriented sedan. Its available 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 made the same 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque as the Camry V6 and used an eight-speed automatic. Toyota also sold the Avalon with hybrid powertrains.

Compared with the Camry, the Avalon emphasized a larger, more comfort-oriented sedan experience while keeping the familiar large-displacement V6 formula. It is now a discontinued model, but that can make the 2022 version attractive to shoppers seeking a relatively recent, non-turbo large sedan. Verify the engine rather than assuming every 2022 Avalon has the V6, because hybrid versions were also available.
3. 2023 Nissan Maxima
The 2023 Nissan Maxima carried Nissan’s 3.5-liter VQ V6, rated at 300 horsepower, with front-wheel drive. Nissan paired it with an Xtronic continuously variable transmission, or CVT—not a traditional stepped automatic.
That makes the Maxima mechanically different from most of the other cars here, but it still fits the central theme: its V6 was naturally aspirated rather than turbocharged. The 2023 model was the final year of Maxima production, placing it among the last mainstream large sedans to retain a naturally aspirated V6. Its CVT should be part of the buying decision for anyone specifically seeking the shift behavior of a conventional automatic.

4. 2017 Honda Accord V6
The 2017 Honda Accord Sedan offered a 3.5-liter i-VTEC naturally aspirated V6 with 278 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. Honda also specified Variable Cylinder Management on V6 models, a system designed to vary cylinder operation under different driving conditions.
The 2017 Accord is an important cutoff point. The subsequent 10th-generation Accord eliminated the naturally aspirated V6 in favor of turbocharged four-cylinder engines and a hybrid system. Therefore, a 2018-or-newer Accord is not a substitute if the goal is specifically a non-turbo V6. The 2017 model is front-wheel drive, and its V6 configuration was available only in the relevant sedan grades—not across every Accord body style or powertrain.
5. 2020 Acura TLX V6
The 2020 Acura TLX V6 used a 3.5-liter direct-injected, naturally aspirated i-VTEC V6 producing 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with a nine-speed automatic, and buyers could choose front-wheel drive or Acura’s SH-AWD all-wheel-drive system depending on the configuration.
This generation of TLX also offered a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder. The important distinction is that the TLX V6 itself was not turbocharged; the generation did not use a turbocharged V6 as its alternative. The TLX is one of the better fits for shoppers who want a luxury-leaning sedan, an available all-wheel-drive system, and a V6 without moving to a larger rear-wheel-drive car.
6. 2025 Lexus ES 350
The 2025 Lexus ES 350 retained a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 rated at 302 horsepower and paired it with an eight-speed Direct-Shift automatic. The ES 350 drove the front wheels. Lexus sold the ES alongside four-cylinder and hybrid variants, so the 350 designation matters when identifying the engine.
The 2025 ES 350 is one of the latest traditional luxury-sedan V6 examples. The 2026 ES launched with battery-electric and hybrid variants, making the 2025 V6 model a notable endpoint for this type of Lexus powertrain. It may be newer and less common in the used market than the older cars here, but it is the clearest choice for someone prioritizing a late-model luxury sedan with a naturally aspirated V6.

7. 2023 Dodge Charger V6
The 2023 Dodge Charger continued to offer the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. Depending on configuration and market documentation, it was rated at approximately 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and used an eight-speed automatic.
The Charger presents a different version of the no-turbo V6 formula from the front-wheel-drive family sedans. It is a rear-wheel-drive-oriented full-size sedan, with all-wheel drive available in some configurations. That layout gives it a distinct place in this group, although shoppers should verify the exact drivetrain and output on the individual car because Charger specifications vary by configuration and market.
8. 2020 Kia Cadenza
The 2020 Kia Cadenza used a 3.3-liter gasoline-direct-injection V6 producing 290 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic sent power to the front wheels.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe Cadenza was positioned as a premium-oriented sedan, giving buyers a quieter, more upscale alternative to ordinary midsize cars while retaining naturally aspirated V6 displacement. It is a particularly clear example of a sedan that kept a larger non-turbo engine as competitors increasingly downsized to turbocharged four-cylinders. As with the Avalon and Maxima, the Cadenza’s status as a discontinued or less common used-car choice makes condition and service history more important than simply finding the lowest-mileage example.
9. 2019 Infiniti Q70
The 2019 Infiniti Q70 offered a 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 producing 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. It used a seven-speed automatic and was available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The Q70 is the most powerful V6 entry in this group by its cited output. It was an executive sedan sold from 2014 through 2019, and production ended after the 2019 model year. The rear-drive-based layout and available all-wheel drive distinguish it from the predominantly front-wheel-drive Toyota, Honda, Lexus, and Kia sedans here.

10. 2019 Genesis G80 3.8
The 2019 Genesis G80 3.8 used a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter gasoline-direct-injected V6 making 311 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with an eight-speed automatic.
The engine designation is essential: the G80 range also included turbocharged V6 and V8 alternatives. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe every 2019 G80 as naturally aspirated. The qualifying car is specifically the G80 3.8, which offered large-engine response and strong output without turbocharging.
What skipped the turbo trend actually means
In this article, skipped the turbo trend means that the cited V6 configuration uses atmospheric pressure rather than an exhaust-driven turbocharger to force air into the engine. It does not mean the entire nameplate was free of turbocharged engines, and it does not mean the car lacks modern emissions, fuel-injection, variable-valve-timing, or electronic-control systems.
Naturally aspirated engines can deliver a progressive, predictable relationship between accelerator input and power, and some drivers prefer the sound and response of a larger engine that does not rely on boost. Those are driving-character observations, not proof that every naturally aspirated V6 is more reliable or cheaper to own than every turbocharged four-cylinder. A turbocharged rival may be quicker, more efficient in some conditions, or better suited to a particular vehicle.
There is also no single transmission or drivetrain formula here. Nine of the entries use stepped automatic transmissions ranging from six to nine speeds; the Maxima uses a CVT. Most are front-wheel drive, while the Charger and Q70 bring rear-wheel-drive-oriented layouts, and the TLX and Q70 offer all-wheel drive. The common thread is the naturally aspirated V6, not the transmission or drive wheels.

- Verify the VIN and build configuration. Use the VIN, original window sticker, owner’s manual, and manufacturer specifications to confirm the engine, trim, transmission, and drivetrain. A model family may combine a naturally aspirated V6 with a turbocharged engine, four-cylinder, hybrid, or V8.
- Confirm the engine code before buying parts. The 3.5-liter engines in the Camry, Avalon, Maxima, Accord, TLX, and ES are not interchangeable simply because their displacements are similar. The 3.3-, 3.6-, 3.7-, and 3.8-liter engines are different families as well.
- Check the car’s history, but do not treat a report as an inspection. A vehicle-history report can help identify title issues, reported accidents, ownership changes, and some service events. Coverage varies, so supplement it with service invoices and an independent pre-purchase inspection.
- Scan for diagnostic codes before completing the purchase. A basic OBD-II scanner can help read powertrain and emissions fault codes on gasoline sedans. It is a troubleshooting aid, not a complete diagnosis: many basic readers cannot access every airbag, body, chassis, or manufacturer-specific module. Do not clear codes immediately before a test; check whether emissions readiness monitors have completed.
- Look for evidence of routine maintenance. Match oil, coolant, spark-plug, transmission-fluid, and other service requirements to the exact year and engine. Direct-injected engines and vehicles with all-wheel drive may have additional inspection or service considerations, but the correct schedule must come from the vehicle’s documentation.
- Inspect age-related condition. A naturally aspirated engine can still have oil leaks, cooling-system problems, worn engine mounts, ignition faults, fuel-system issues, and expensive emissions equipment. Examine the underside, cooling system, fluid condition, tires, brakes, suspension, and electrical equipment.
- Test the transmission and drivetrain. The Maxima’s CVT should behave differently from the stepped automatics in the other entries. On an AWD TLX, Q70, or applicable Charger, include the complete all-wheel-drive system in the inspection rather than evaluating only the engine.
- Use exact service information. A model-year repair manual or factory service manual can provide the correct fluid specifications, service intervals, wiring information, tightening procedures, and diagnostic paths. Match the information to the exact engine and drivetrain.
Which of these is the best fit?
| What you want | Models to investigate first | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| The newest listed V6 sedan | 2025 Lexus ES 350 | It is front-wheel drive and was sold alongside four-cylinder and hybrid ES variants. |
| A recent mainstream sedan | 2024 Toyota Camry V6 | Only the V6 grades qualify; the next-generation Camry moved to hybrid four-cylinder powertrains. |
| A larger Toyota sedan | 2022 Toyota Avalon | The V6 and hybrid versions are different powertrains, so verify the car’s configuration. |
| Rear-wheel-drive-oriented character | 2023 Dodge Charger V6 or 2019 Infiniti Q70 | Check the exact drivetrain; all-wheel drive was available on some configurations. |
| A luxury sedan with available AWD | 2020 Acura TLX V6 or 2019 Infiniti Q70 | Confirm SH-AWD or AWD on the individual vehicle rather than assuming it from the model name. |
| A naturally aspirated V6 Accord | 2017 Honda Accord Sedan V6 | The following generation switched to turbocharged four-cylinder and hybrid powertrains. |
| Large-displacement luxury output | 2019 Infiniti Q70 or 2019 Genesis G80 3.8 | The G80 3.8 must be distinguished from turbocharged V6 and V8 versions in the broader G80 range. |
Bottom line for used-car shoppers
This group shows how long the naturally aspirated V6 survived after the industry began moving toward smaller turbocharged engines. The 2024 Camry V6 and 2025 Lexus ES 350 are the newest examples here; the Avalon, Maxima, Accord V6, Q70, and other entries document the final years of several discontinued or redesigned sedan formulas.
Choose by the exact engine, transmission, drivetrain, condition, and service record—not simply by the promise of a non-turbo badge. A naturally aspirated V6 may offer the response you want, but age, maintenance history, electronics, emissions equipment, and drivetrain condition will determine whether a particular used car is a good buy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do all trims of these sedans have naturally aspirated V6 engines?
No. The list identifies a qualifying V6 configuration for each specific model year. Several nameplates also offered four-cylinder, hybrid, turbocharged, or V8 engines. The 2019 Genesis G80, for example, qualifies only as the G80 3.8; other G80 versions used turbocharged V6 or V8 engines.
Is a non-turbo V6 always more reliable than a turbocharged engine?
Not automatically. A naturally aspirated V6 can provide linear response and avoid turbocharger hardware, but reliability and ownership cost depend on the specific engine, maintenance history, age, emissions equipment, transmission, and drivetrain. A turbocharged competitor is not inherently a worse choice.
How can I verify that a used sedan really has the V6 configuration I want?
Start with the VIN, original window sticker, owner’s manual, and manufacturer specifications. Then confirm the engine code, transmission, drivetrain, and trim before buying parts or comparing maintenance schedules. A diagnostic scan and an independent pre-purchase inspection are also advisable.
The Bottom Line
The best modern non-turbo V6 sedan depends on the layout and age you want: the 2024 Camry and 2025 ES 350 are the newest examples, the TLX and Q70 offer available all-wheel drive, and the Charger supplies a rear-wheel-drive-oriented alternative. Verify the exact VIN and engine, because several of these nameplates also offered hybrids, four-cylinders, turbocharged engines, or V8s.
