6. Skipping the level check or checking under the wrong conditions
Oil-level readings can depend on how long the engine has been off and whether it is warm. 8. Spilling oil on components and leaving it there

10. Forgetting a required maintenance reminder reset
Some vehicles require an oil-maintenance reminder or maintenance-data reset after an oil change.
