For U.S. shoppers, the 2026 shortlist below covers large touring motorcycles with fairings and hard saddlebags, including several trims from the same model families. It is a set of distinct shopping choices—not a ranking of ten unrelated platforms. The Honda Gold Wing Tour is included as a fully faired touring alternative, while the BMW K 1600 B is a market-dependent option: the cited BMW information is for India, so confirm U.S. availability before treating it as locally buyable.
How to choose among these baggers
Start with the configuration that fits your use, then compare the exact trim rather than relying on a model-family name. Prices below are manufacturer-listed starting figures where the cited U.S. page provides one; they are not dealer quotes or out-the-door totals.
- Price and equipment: Check the current trim’s included features, destination or delivery charges, taxes, title, registration, setup, and dealer fees.
- Fairing and wind protection: The sources identify some fairing layouts, but they cannot tell you whether a cockpit suits your height or creates buffeting. Sit on the motorcycle and, where possible, test ride it.
- Engine and transmission: Compare engine configuration and available transmission choices for the exact version. Displacement and peak-output figures alone do not establish which motorcycle performs better for you.
- Luggage and passenger use: Check published storage, trunk arrangement, passenger equipment, and whether you will need additional luggage. The available specifications do not support a cross-model comfort ranking.
- Weight, maneuvering, and support: Review the exact model’s published weight and assess low-speed handling yourself. Check local dealer stock and service access.
Ten bagger choices for 2026
1. Harley-Davidson Street Glide
A core Grand American Touring choice, the 2026 Street Glide starts at $24,999+ on Harley-Davidson’s U.S. lineup page. Treat that as a manufacturer starting figure, not a transaction price. Compare the cockpit and fairing fit with the Road Glide in person. Harley-Davidson’s 2026 U.S. lineup.
2. Harley-Davidson Road Glide
The 2026 Road Glide is listed from $25,999+ on the same U.S. lineup page. It is a second central Harley touring option, but the listed price does not establish a handling advantage over the Street Glide; fit and wind behavior are rider-specific.

3. Harley-Davidson Street Glide Limited
For shoppers seeking a higher touring trim, the 2026 Street Glide Limited is listed from $32,999+. Verify the equipment included in the exact current configuration before comparing it with other models.
4. Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide ST
This is the premium, performance-oriented choice in the Harley group. Harley-Davidson Media calls it “Harley-Davidson’s race-inspired bagger at its most ruthless”—manufacturer marketing language, not an independent assessment. Confirm current U.S. configuration and pricing with a dealer. Harley-Davidson Media’s CVO information.

5. Indian Chieftain family
Indian places the Chieftain family in its 2026 bagger lineup. The family includes configurations to compare, so check the exact trim, equipment, and current U.S. starting MSRP rather than treating the family as one specification. Indian warns that prices may change and excludes destination and handling, tax, title, license, registration, and dealer costs from its stated prices. Indian’s U.S. bagger lineup.
6. Indian Challenger family
The Challenger is a chassis-mounted-fairing bagger. Indian lists remote-locking hard saddlebags, an adjustable windshield, and 18+ gallons of weatherproof storage. On the PowerPlus 112 version, the manufacturer lists 126 hp and 133 ft-lb; those output figures should not be applied to every Challenger engine or trim. Check the exact configuration and current price with Indian. Indian’s 2026 Challenger page.

8. Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero ABS
The 2026 Vaquero ABS has a U.S. base MSRP of $19,999, plus a separately listed $840 destination charge. Kawasaki specifies a liquid-cooled 1,700 cc V-twin, electronic cruise control, K-ACT ABS, a frame-mounted fairing, audio, and sealed saddlebags. Taxes and dealer-specific charges are additional. 9. Honda Gold Wing Tour
The Gold Wing Tour is a serious fully faired touring alternative, not a stylistic twin to the traditional V-twin baggers. Honda lists an 1,833 cc horizontally opposed six-cylinder, a 61-liter travel trunk, full-coverage bodywork and luggage, manual or DCT availability, and a 29.3-inch seat height for its 2026 model. Honda’s touring FAQ asks, “What features make the Honda Gold Wing Tour suitable for touring?” Use the exact trim page to verify transmission and equipment. Honda’s 2026 Gold Wing Tour page.
10. BMW K 1600 B
BMW Motorrad India describes the K 1600 B as a touring bagger with a six-cylinder engine and storage. The cited page is India-specific and its pricing is not a U.S. price; verify U.S. availability and local specifications before considering it alongside U.S.-listed models. What the prices do—and do not—tell you
The figures are useful for initial orientation, not direct out-the-door comparisons. Harley’s listed prices are starting figures; Kawasaki separates its destination charge; and Indian cautions that its prices exclude multiple delivery, government, and dealer costs. Prices and configurations can change, and local inventory varies. Ask dealers for a written quote on the exact model year and trim, with charges itemized.
Which bagger should you buy?
Choose by fit, equipment, and the riding you expect to do—not by this list’s order. Compare Harley’s Street Glide and Road Glide in person if you are deciding between their cockpit layouts; look at the Street Glide Limited or CVO Road Glide ST if their specific equipment and price suit your priorities. Compare Indian’s Chieftain and Challenger by exact trim, and consider the Springfield for its different styling. The Vaquero’s published U.S. starting price is lower than the other priced U.S. models listed here, while the Gold Wing Tour is the distinct fully faired, six-cylinder touring choice. Treat the BMW as a candidate only after confirming that it is offered in your market.
