The Cadillac Escalade IQ has the longest headline range at 460 miles, according to Cadillac’s estimate for the 2025 model. The Lucid Gravity follows at 450 miles EPA-estimated in a specific Grand Touring configuration, while the Rivian R1S reaches 410 miles with its Dual Motor Max battery setup.

This is a U.S.-market ranking based on each vehicle’s maximum claimed or EPA-estimated range—not the range of every trim. Rear-wheel drive, smaller or specific wheel packages, battery size, seating configuration, and performance equipment can change the number substantially.

How to read this ranking

The figures below use the highest range reported for each model line in the researched U.S. data. The preferred comparison source is the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center vehicle database, which identifies model year, drivetrain, vehicle type, and all-electric range. Manufacturer pages are used where they clarify a configuration or a range claim.

An EPA-estimated range is a standardized result designed to make vehicles easier to compare. It is not a promise that the SUV will travel that far on every trip. A manufacturer estimate, such as Cadillac’s 460-mile figure, should be treated as a company projection rather than an EPA-certified result.

The 10 longest-range electric SUVs for 2025

Rank Electric SUV Maximum range Configuration behind the figure
1 Cadillac Escalade IQ 460 miles 2025 Escalade IQ; Cadillac-estimated, not EPA-rated
2 Lucid Gravity 450 miles Grand Touring, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, two-row, five-seat layout; EPA-estimated
3 Rivian R1S 410 miles 2025 Dual Motor with Max battery and 22-inch wheels
4 Tesla Model X 352 miles Dual Motor; EPA-estimated
5 Polestar 3 350 miles 2025 Long Range Single Motor; AFDC figure
6 Chevrolet Blazer EV 334 miles 2025 rear-wheel drive; AFDC figure
7 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 323 miles EQS 450+ SUV, rear-wheel drive; AFDC figure
8 Audi Q6 e-tron 321 miles 2025 rear-wheel drive; AFDC figure
9 Ford Mustang Mach-E 320 miles Rear-wheel drive with the extended-range battery; AFDC range band
10 GMC Hummer EV SUV Approximately 315 miles 2025 all-electric SUV; federal data place the applicable figure around the low-300-mile range

All figures are maximum values for the named model line or configuration. The ranking is ordered numerically, so the 352-mile Model X correctly sits ahead of the 350-mile Polestar 3.

1. Cadillac Escalade IQ: 460 miles

The Cadillac Escalade IQ takes first place with a 460-mile manufacturer estimate for the 2025 model. That is the highest headline number in this group, but it is important not to label it as EPA-estimated: Cadillac’s launch announcement describes the figure as a Cadillac estimate.

That distinction matters when comparing the Escalade IQ with the Lucid Gravity. The Cadillac number is higher, but it was not produced under the same status as Lucid’s 450-mile EPA result. Buyers should look for the final window-sticker rating and the exact vehicle equipment before treating the two numbers as a direct apples-to-apples comparison.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Lucid Gravity: 450 miles

The Lucid Gravity’s maximum is 450 miles EPA-estimated, but only in the Grand Touring configuration identified by Lucid. The rating applies to a two-row, five-seat vehicle equipped with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

This is not necessarily the range of every Gravity. Seating layout, wheel and tire equipment, battery specification, and trim can change the result. Lucid also warns that real-world range varies with conditions such as speed, temperature, terrain, traffic, payload, climate-control use, and driving style.

For strict model-year shopping, remember that Lucid’s official material calls this vehicle the 2026 Gravity. It belongs on a 2025 calendar-year list because it entered production and the U.S. market during that period, but shoppers comparing only vehicles formally designated 2025 models should mark it as an exception.

3. Rivian R1S: 410 miles

The Rivian R1S is the longest-range SUV here with a distinctly adventure-oriented positioning. Its maximum cited range is 410 miles for a 2025 Dual Motor model with the Max battery and 22-inch wheels, according to Rivian’s configuration information.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That number is highly configuration-specific. Choosing a smaller battery, all-terrain tires, or a higher-performance trim can reduce the R1S’s rated range considerably. Rivian shoppers should build the exact vehicle first, then compare the displayed range rather than using 410 miles as a blanket figure for every R1S.

The R1S illustrates why a model-level ranking can be useful for finding candidates but insufficient for choosing a vehicle. Two R1S versions can have very different range, charging needs, ride characteristics, and off-road equipment while sharing the same nameplate.

4. Tesla Model X: 352 miles

The Tesla Model X reaches 352 miles EPA-estimated in its Dual Motor version. The Model X Plaid is listed at 335 miles, so the performance version does not hold the model’s range record.

There is also an availability caveat. Tesla’s current Model X page says the vehicle is no longer in production. That keeps the Model X relevant as a 2025 comparison point—particularly for existing inventory or used-vehicle shoppers—but it makes the SUV a less straightforward choice for someone seeking a newly produced vehicle in a later model year.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

As with the other entries, the 352-mile result should not be used to predict every trip. Wheel selection, weather, speed, elevation, passenger and cargo weight, and battery condition can all affect actual energy use.

5. Polestar 3: 350 miles

The Polestar 3 ranks fifth with 350 miles for the 2025 Long Range Single Motor configuration in the federal data. The single-motor setup is essential to the ranking: the long-range dual-motor version is listed at up to 315 miles.

  • PORTABLE CONVENIENCE - Whether you're on a road trip or visiting a friend, you can easily plug in your EV and charge with our portable EV charger. Please refer to the included User Manual for complete operating instructions and compatibility requirements

That 35-mile difference is a useful example of the trade-off between efficiency and traction or performance hardware. A buyer who wants the dual-motor version should evaluate it against its own 315-mile rating, not the 350-mile headline for the single-motor model.

6. Chevrolet Blazer EV: 334 miles

The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV reaches 334 miles in the rear-wheel-drive configuration listed by AFDC. That is a maximum for a particular drivetrain, not a rating for the entire Blazer EV range.

All-wheel-drive and performance versions have lower range figures. Anyone comparing a Blazer EV against the SUVs above should confirm the drivetrain, battery, wheels, and trim on the specific vehicle’s window sticker or build sheet.

The Blazer EV also has an NACS charging path through an available GM-approved adapter. Adapter compatibility can depend on the vehicle, charging hardware, software, and the manufacturer’s approval list, so verify the current Chevrolet guidance before purchasing charging equipment.

7. Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: 323 miles

The Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ SUV, with rear-wheel drive, reaches 323 miles in the 2025 federal data. The rear-drive configuration is the range leader within the EQS SUV family.

The broader lineup spans approximately 302 to 323 miles depending on trim and equipment. Four-wheel-drive versions are generally listed between 312 and 317 miles, so choosing 4MATIC for additional traction means accepting a modest range reduction compared with the EQS 450+.

8. Audi Q6 e-tron: 321 miles

The 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron reaches 321 miles in the rear-wheel-drive configuration listed by AFDC. The quattro version is listed at up to 319 miles, making the rear-drive model the range maximum by a narrow margin.

Equipped with a UL-listed cable, fully rubberized connector, and advanced protection against overcurrent, overheating, and electrical faults. Designed to ensure safe, stable, and long-term charging performance in demanding environments

This is one of the smallest drivetrain-related gaps in the ranking. If quattro capability is important, the two-mile difference is unlikely to matter as much as route conditions, charging availability, temperature, and the buyer’s preferred equipment. Still, the 321-mile number should be reserved for the rear-drive configuration.

9. Ford Mustang Mach-E: 320 miles

The Ford Mustang Mach-E’s maximum 2025 range reaches 320 miles with rear-wheel drive and the extended-range battery. The federal data report a range band for the Mach-E, rather than one number that applies to every version.

Do not apply 320 miles to the Mach-E GT, Rally, or all-wheel-drive models. Performance-oriented trims and additional driven wheels generally carry a range penalty, and their correct comparison should use the rating for the exact configuration being considered.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

10. GMC Hummer EV SUV: approximately 315 miles

The GMC Hummer EV SUV rounds out the list at approximately 315 miles, based on the 2025 federal range information and its low-300-mile range band. Because the available research describes this figure as approximate, buyers should verify the exact rating for the specific Hummer EV SUV.

The Hummer is a range leader among large, off-road-focused electric SUVs, but it is not an efficiency leader. Its very large battery helps it travel a long distance between charges, while its extreme mass and equipment mean that it can consume substantially more energy than a smaller SUV covering the same route.

What these range numbers mean in real driving

Rated range is most useful as a common comparison yardstick. It is less useful as a promise about the number on a particular road trip. Actual results can change with:

  • Highway speed and rapid acceleration
  • Cold or very hot temperatures
  • Elevation changes, strong wind, and traffic
  • Passengers, luggage, towing, or other payload
  • Wheel and tire size, especially all-terrain or performance tires
  • Cabin heating, air conditioning, and battery preconditioning
  • Battery age, state of charge, and the vehicle’s operating condition
  • Driving style and the use of regenerative braking

For road trips, plan around the exact vehicle configuration and expected conditions rather than assuming the maximum number. Leave a practical arrival reserve, identify charging stops before departure, and allow for slower charging or a detour when temperatures, traffic, or elevation are unfavorable.

Combining dual-voltage flexibility, a long cable, portable construction, and multiple safety protections, this EV portable charger works as a dependable everyday charger or a convenient backup charging solution.

Charging equipment does not increase driving range

A charger changes how conveniently an SUV can replenish its battery; it does not change the vehicle’s EPA-estimated or manufacturer-claimed range. A portable EV charger can be useful as backup equipment or for travel when a compatible outlet is available, but it will charge only at the rate allowed by the outlet, circuit, charger, and vehicle.

For daily home charging, a Level 2 home EV charger can restore energy considerably faster than a standard household outlet. Before buying one, check the vehicle’s connector, the charger’s plug and amperage, the available electrical capacity, circuit requirements, safety certification, and whether professional installation is needed. Faster home charging improves convenience and trip preparation; it does not add miles to the battery’s rated capacity.

Connector compatibility deserves the same care on public chargers. A J1772-to-NACS adapter may be relevant when a vehicle and charging station use different connector standards, but a generic adapter should not be assumed to work. Confirm the vehicle manufacturer’s approved adapter list and the specific charger type before purchasing or plugging in.

Which long-range electric SUV makes the most sense?

  • For the highest published number: Start with the Cadillac Escalade IQ, but remember that its 460-mile figure is a manufacturer estimate rather than an EPA rating.
  • For the highest researched EPA figure: The Lucid Gravity Grand Touring reaches 450 miles in the specified two-row configuration, with the model-year caveat explained above.
  • For a long-range adventure-oriented SUV: The Rivian R1S reaches 410 miles only with the Dual Motor Max battery and specified 22-inch wheels.
  • For a rear-drive efficiency-focused configuration: The Polestar 3, EQS SUV, Audi Q6 e-tron, Blazer EV, and Mach-E all require choosing the particular rear-drive or single-motor version that produces the headline range.
  • For a performance or all-wheel-drive model: Compare the exact lower-rated configuration rather than the model’s maximum. The Tesla Model X Plaid, Polestar 3 dual motor, Mach-E GT and Rally, and the EQS 4MATIC versions demonstrate how equipment changes the result.
  • For extreme size and off-road hardware: The Hummer EV SUV offers a long-distance figure, but its large battery should not be confused with superior energy efficiency.

Sources and methodology

The ranking uses the U.S. Department of Energy AFDC vehicle data as the primary comparison layer for 2025 model year, drivetrain, vehicle type, and range information. Manufacturer sources provide configuration detail or clarify special cases for the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Rivian R1S, Tesla Model X, and Lucid Gravity.

Because the list ranks maximum values, it is best used to identify which SUVs deserve closer inspection. The final decision should be based on the exact trim, drivetrain, wheel and tire package, battery, seating layout, expected climate, charging access, and the vehicle’s current EPA label or manufacturer configuration page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Cadillac Escalade IQ’s 460-mile range EPA-estimated?

No. The 460-mile figure is Cadillac’s estimate for the 2025 Escalade IQ. It should not be described as an EPA-certified range figure.

Why is the Lucid Gravity included if it is a 2026 model?

The Gravity is included as a clearly labeled boundary case because it entered production and the U.S. market during the 2025 calendar period. Lucid’s official material identifies the 450-mile Grand Touring vehicle as a 2026 model, so it should be excluded from a strictly 2025-model-year-only list.

Will these electric SUVs always travel their advertised range?

No. EPA and manufacturer figures are comparison estimates. Speed, temperature, terrain, traffic, payload, wheel and tire choice, HVAC use, battery condition, and driving style can all reduce or change real-world range.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does installing a faster EV charger increase an SUV’s driving range?

No. A Level 2 charger or portable charger can replenish the battery more conveniently or quickly, but it does not change the battery’s capacity or the SUV’s rated miles per charge.

The Bottom Line

The Cadillac Escalade IQ has the highest headline figure at 460 miles, but it is a manufacturer estimate. The Lucid Gravity follows with 450 miles EPA-estimated in a narrow 2026 Grand Touring configuration, and the Rivian R1S reaches 410 miles with its Max-battery setup. For every SUV on the list, choose the exact drivetrain, battery, wheels, tires, and trim before treating the maximum range as relevant to your purchase.
