Electric motorcycles became substantially easier to shop for in 2024, but the cheapest options were not all equivalent. Some were off-road machines, some were low-speed urban vehicles, and others were genuine street-legal motorcycles capable of highway travel.

The list below uses advertised U.S. base prices or MSRP before destination, dealer preparation, documentation, taxes, title, registration, and accessories. Prices reflect models offered for purchase, reservation, or dealer delivery during 2024.

2024 electric motorcycle prices at a glance

Rank Model 2024 advertised price Type Key qualification
1 Zero XB $4,195 Off-road dirt bike Not street legal in its initial North American configuration
2 Ryvid Outset $5,995 Street motorcycle Cheapest highway-capable option
3 Volcon Grunt EVO $5,999 Off-road fat-tire motorcycle Not a highway-legal motorcycle
4 Ryvid Anthem $6,495 Street motorcycle Price cut announced in May 2024
5 Kollter ES1-S Pro $6,995 Street motorcycle Marketed as EPA/DOT approved for all 50 states
6 CSC E-RT3 $7,295 MSRP Maxi-scooter Road-oriented, but not a conventional motorcycle
7 Kawasaki Z e-1 ABS $7,299 Street motorcycle ABS and two removable battery packs
8 Kawasaki Ninja e-1 ABS $7,599-$7,899 Street sport motorcycle Price varied by source and revision
9 BMW CE 02 $7,599 MSRP Urban mobility motorcycle $595 destination and handling fee excluded
10 CSC RX1E $8,495 original MSRP Full-size street motorcycle Later discounts were not its original MSRP

The order is based primarily on advertised price, with vehicle type noted so an off-road bike or maxi-scooter is not mistaken for a highway-capable motorcycle.

1. Zero XB — $4,195

The Zero XB was the least expensive electric two-wheeler on this list. Zero announced it in November 2024 with a 2.4-kWh battery and a dirt-bike design intended for off-road use.

#1 Best Overall
ESKUTE Electric Dirt Bike for Teens Adults, Electric Motorcycle 48V23Ah Battery, 53-Mile Range, 38-46mph Mid-Drive Motor 3500W Peak, Hydraulic Dual Shock Absorbers, Orange-black-With Lock
  • 3500W Peak Power & 220Nm Torque** - Unleashes rapid acceleration and conquers 35° off-road climbs with ease. Reaches 38-46mph top speed in seconds, delivering dirt bike-level performance for adult thrill-seekers.
  • 53-Mile Range & 48V 23Ah Battery** - High-capacity lithium battery supports continuous trail riding. Fast 6-hour full charge gets you back on the road overnight. Battery management system prevents overheat, overcharge, and short circuits.
  • Nitrogen-Filled Technology** - Prevents hydraulic oil from forming bubbles (cavitation) under high temperatures or continuous jolts, ensuring shock absorption performance remains unaffected after 5 hours of high-intensity off-road driving.Compared to conventional hydraulic dampers, it maintains 90% of performance during continuous use, preventing loss of control due to shock failure.
  • Dual Hydraulic Disc Brakes & Steel Frame** - Large front and rear brake discs deliver consistent stopping power in mud, water, and sand. Reinforced steel frame supports up to 265 lbs while maintaining agile handling.
  • TUV Certified & 1-Year Warranty** - Meets strict safety standards for electric bicycles. Easy assemble with tools included. US-based customer support and replacement parts available nationwide.

That low price comes with the most important caveat in the comparison: the initial North American configuration was not a street-legal motorcycle. It should be considered an electric dirt bike, not an inexpensive commuter. Buyers looking for a plated motorcycle need to check the exact model’s equipment, VIN documentation, and registration eligibility in their state.

2. Ryvid Outset — $5,995

The Ryvid Outset was the cheapest model here that was repeatedly described as a highway-capable electric motorcycle. Ryvid announced the $5,995 price in May 2024 and scheduled shipping for summer.

Unlike the Zero XB and Volcon Grunt EVO, the Outset was intended for street use and claimed a top speed above 75 mph. That makes it the important dividing line in this list: it was not the cheapest electric two-wheeler overall, but it was the cheapest practical option for a rider seeking a street motorcycle with highway capability.

Ryvid published separate city, constant-speed highway, and combined range figures. Those numbers should not be compared directly with a competitor’s range claim unless the test conditions are also comparable.

3. Volcon Grunt EVO — $5,999

The Grunt EVO cost only $4 more than the Outset, but it served a completely different purpose. Volcon positioned the Grunt EVO as an off-road fat-tire motorcycle and described its business as all-electric off-road powersports.

It may make sense for trails, private land, or low-speed recreational riding, but it should not be presented as a highway-legal alternative to the Ryvid. Range also depended heavily on configuration, including whether the optional second battery was fitted.

4. Ryvid Anthem — $6,495

The Anthem was another street-legal Ryvid, and its 2024 price needs special attention. Ryvid reduced it to $6,495 in May 2024. Older articles that list the Anthem at $8,995 are using its earlier price and do not describe the post-May 2024 market.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

At $6,495, the Anthem sat $500 above the Outset. Both were highway-capable street motorcycles, so the meaningful comparison was not simply price; buyers also needed to examine seating position, equipment, battery arrangement, claimed range, dealer support, and registration paperwork.

  • ENGINEERED FOR ADULT RIDERS – Combining premium performance with dependable quality, this electric dirt bike is UL2272 certified and built for trail riding, weekend adventures, outdoor recreation, and off-road exploration for riders seeking excitement and reliability.

5. Kollter ES1-S Pro — $6,995

The Kollter ES1-S Pro was marketed as an EPA/DOT-approved street-legal motorcycle for all 50 states. Its claimed top speed was above 70 mph, while stated range varied from approximately 35 to 70 miles depending on conditions.

That wide range is a reminder that electric motorcycle range is not a single guaranteed distance. Speed, rider weight, temperature, hills, battery age, and riding mode can all affect the result. The ES1-S Pro was a more conventional road-going choice than the off-road models near the top of the list, but its range claim should still be treated as manufacturer-provided rather than a promise of real-world highway mileage.

6. CSC E-RT3 — $7,295 MSRP

The CSC E-RT3 was a maxi-scooter rather than a traditional motorcycle, but it belonged in a comparison of inexpensive full-size electric two-wheelers sold through a U.S. motorcycle importer.

Its scooter layout may appeal to urban riders who value step-through convenience and practical road use. It should not be compared as though it had the same ergonomics, transmission arrangement, or styling as the Kawasaki, Ryvid, or CSC motorcycles. The $7,295 figure is MSRP before the additional charges that apply to a vehicle purchase.

7. Kawasaki Z e-1 ABS — $7,299

The Z e-1 ABS brought Kawasaki’s established street-bike styling to a comparatively accessible electric model. Its 2024 U.S. MSRP was $7,299, and it included ABS plus two removable battery packs.

Kawasaki listed a 53-mph limit in Road mode before using e-boost. That makes the Z e-1 a street motorcycle suited primarily to urban and suburban riding rather than unrestricted high-speed touring. The removable batteries can be useful for riders without a convenient place to charge the motorcycle, although charging logistics and battery capacity remain central ownership considerations.

8. Kawasaki Ninja e-1 ABS — $7,599 to $7,899

The Ninja e-1 ABS was the sport-styled counterpart to the Z e-1. Pricing is less straightforward than for most models in this list: contemporary launch coverage reported $7,599, while Kawasaki’s product page showed a $7,899 MSRP.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Rather than treating those figures as one exact price, it is more accurate to give the range and attach it to the relevant pricing source or date. The Ninja e-1 was street legal, but like the Z e-1 it was aimed more at city and ordinary road riding than at long-distance highway travel.

9. BMW CE 02 — $7,599 MSRP

BMW classified the CE 02 as an urban-mobility model. Its compact proportions and styling placed it between a conventional motorcycle and a scooter, making it particularly relevant to short urban trips.

The $7,599 MSRP did not include BMW’s $595 destination and handling fee. That puts the listed price at $8,194 before tax, registration, dealer charges, and other costs, even before any local pricing differences. The CE 02 therefore illustrates why MSRP rankings are useful for comparison but not the same as an out-the-door quote.

10. CSC RX1E — $8,495 original MSRP

The CSC RX1E was the most expensive model in this group by original MSRP, but it was also one of the most full-size and touring-oriented. CSC listed an 80-mph claimed top speed, a liquid-cooled motor, ABS, luggage, and a 96-volt battery.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

CSC later advertised discounts, including a 2024 promotion offering $1,200 in savings. Those sale prices should not be substituted for the RX1E’s original $8,495 MSRP when comparing model pricing. They may, however, have made the RX1E particularly attractive to buyers who could find remaining inventory at the discounted price.

What “cheap” means with electric motorcycles

Street legal does not always mean highway capable

A street-legal motorcycle has the equipment and documentation needed for registration, subject to state requirements. That does not automatically mean it can safely or legally use every highway. Highway capability generally refers to whether the motorcycle can reach typical traffic speeds, while road-access rules vary by state and by roadway.

The Zero XB and Grunt EVO demonstrate the distinction clearly. They were inexpensive electric motorcycles, but both were off-road products. The Ryvid Outset was the standout low-price option for a buyer specifically seeking highway capability.

The advertised price is only the starting point

Every price in the ranking excludes at least some ownership costs. A dealer may add destination, setup, preparation, documentation, shipping, or road-testing fees. Taxes, title, registration, insurance, equipment, and charging hardware can increase the final amount substantially.

Before placing a deposit, request a written out-the-door quote. Also confirm whether the quoted battery is included, whether a second battery is optional, and whether the seller can provide the paperwork your state requires for registration.

Yozma IN10 Electric Dirt Bike, 40MPH 2600W Off Road Electric Motorcycle
  • High-Performance Motor: Inspired by true motocross, the IN10 electric dirt bike’s 2600W peak mid-drive motor crushes hills and trails with ease. This torque-packed beast conquers slopes up to 30° and rockets to 40 mph the moment you twist the throttle. Adventure is calling—ready to own the dirt?
  • Ultimate Battery Safety: The IN10 e dirt bike features an advanced BMS system that safeguards every charge and every ride. Its removable, long-range battery delivers up to 53 miles of range—powering extended adventures with confidence and ease.
  • Premium Full Suspension: Rear nitrogen shock delivers faster response, smoother comfort, and long-lasting durability. Paired with a 220mm-travel front hydraulic fork, the IN10 ebike maintains stable, consistent damping—even through long, demanding rides.
  • Reliable Stop System: IN10 electric bike’s braking setup pairs advanced EABS with hydraulic disc brakes for powerful, precise stopping. Even on dusty or muddy terrain, it delivers stronger braking force and smoother control—keeping every ride confident and steady.
  • Note: Before riding, please ensure that the brakes/wheels and other devices of the IN10 ebike are installed correctly. Before purchasing, check the local legal age or license requirements to ensure legal use. Teens should operate the bike only under adult supervision and must follow all local safety regulations.

Range claims are not directly comparable

Manufacturers did not use one universal range test across these models. Ryvid published city, highway, and combined figures. Kawasaki gave an approximate Road-mode range, while Kollter provided a broad 35-to-70-mile estimate. Volcon’s result depended on battery configuration.

For commuting, compare the manufacturer’s test condition with your actual route. A motorcycle that works well for a 20-mile urban commute may be a poor choice for a 60-mile trip involving sustained freeway speeds.

Models often mentioned but not included

The Sondors Metacycle is frequently listed in older cheap-electric-motorcycle articles at around $6,500. It was not included as a normal 2024 recommendation because Sondors’ business collapse and the model’s uncertain support and fulfillment history made availability unreliable.

Likewise, an old MSRP or a promotional price does not prove that a motorcycle was readily purchasable in 2024. A useful budget list needs both a verified price and a realistic path to delivery, registration, and support.

The Bottom Line

The $4,195 Zero XB was the cheapest electric two-wheeler in the group, but it was off-road only. For a street-legal, highway-capable motorcycle, the $5,995 Ryvid Outset was the strongest budget benchmark in 2024. The Ryvid Anthem, Kollter ES1-S Pro, Kawasaki Z e-1, and Ninja e-1 provided additional street-bike choices, while the CSC E-RT3 and BMW CE 02 targeted urban scooter-style use.

Before comparing prices, decide whether you need an off-road machine, an urban commuter, or a motorcycle that can keep up with highway traffic. Then compare the full out-the-door cost, registration eligibility, battery configuration, charging requirements, and real-world range—not just the number in the advertisement.
