The most memorable Sons of Anarchy motorcycles are customized Harley-Davidsons—not untouched showroom models—and there is no verified official top-ten ranking. This curated list favors bikes with strong production or manufacturer identification, then adds carefully qualified model families associated with the show. Two have especially solid documentation: Opie Winston’s 2001 Dyna Super Glide Sport and Jax Teller’s blue 1946 Knucklehead from the finale.
How to read this list
The order is editorial, not a ranking published by the show or Harley-Davidson. Production-used machines, manufacturer statements about the bikes used by the fictional club, and secondary model identifications are not equally strong evidence. The series also customized its motorcycles, so a stock bike with the same model name will not necessarily match the screen machine.
Harley-Davidson said in October 2014 that a special team collaborated with the production team to customize more than 100 motorcycles, and that fictional club members had ridden Street Bobs since the show began. That manufacturer statement establishes the Street Bob’s importance to the production, but it is not a complete inventory of every character’s bike. Harley-Davidson’s 2014 statement
10 Sons of Anarchy motorcycles worth a closer look
1. Jax Teller’s recurring Dyna Super Glide
Jax’s familiar ride is best described as a customized Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide. Secondary sources disagree on the exact trim: some call it an FXD, while others identify an FXDX Super Glide Sport. A model guide notes that production inventory or a VIN confirming the precise identity has not been located, so the trim should be treated as unresolved rather than stated as fact. #1 Best Overall
- Official Merchandise
- Fan Favourite
- Highly Collectable
- Great Gift
- Fully articulated
As a screen presence, the bike stands out for its lean, stripped-down Dyna profile and custom appearance. For a real-world search, “Dyna Super Glide” is the safer starting point than a claim that a specific trim or year will reproduce Jax’s bike.
2. Jax’s 1946 blue Knucklehead from the finale
Twentieth Century Fox’s December 2014 ScreenBid announcement identified a “1946 Blue Harley-Davidson Knucklehead” used in the series finale. The year and model family are therefore supported by an official production-related auction announcement; more specific mechanical details are not needed to make this one of the show’s most distinctive motorcycles. The notice records a historical auction item, not present-day availability. Twentieth Century Fox’s ScreenBid announcement

- Jax stands 6 Inch tall in his signature leather vest which dons the club's logo and patches
- The figure comes with a set of alternate hands as well as a knife and a scale version of John Teller's manuscript
- Jax comes packaged in a collector friendly blister package
- With 5 dynamic points of articulation (neck, shoulders, wrists) he is ready for whatever action comes his way
3. Opie Winston’s 2001 Dyna Super Glide Sport
The same ScreenBid announcement named Opie’s production-used motorcycle as a “2001 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport Motorcycle.” This is one of the clearest character, year, and model identifications tied to the show. The auction description establishes what that particular production-used bike was called; it does not mean an unmodified 2001 Super Glide Sport will look identical to it. 4. The club’s Harley-Davidson Street Bob
Street Bob is the most directly manufacturer-backed model family for the fictional club: Harley-Davidson said members rode Street Bobs from the show’s beginning. That makes it a strong pick for someone drawn to the club’s familiar custom-cruiser look, even though the statement does not assign a particular Street Bob to every character or scene. 5. The Dyna Super Glide Sport as a distinct option
The Super Glide Sport deserves its own place because it is a named model, not simply another way to say “Super Glide.” Harley-Davidson’s 2020 catalog lists FXD/I Super Glide models for 1995–2010 and FXDX/I Super Glide Sport models for 1999–2005. Those catalog spans clarify the terminology, but they do not settle the trim of Jax’s recurring motorcycle. Harley-Davidson’s 2020 catalog
For a buyer comparing used examples, check the actual model designation and year in the listing and vehicle records rather than relying on a show-inspired nickname or an appearance match.

6. A customized Street Bob in club style
A second Street Bob entry highlights the appeal of the production’s customized approach rather than claiming another verified character-bike pairing. Harley-Davidson’s account of more than 100 production-customized motorcycles is a reminder that the screen look came from collaboration and modification, not merely picking a stock model from a catalog. The exact parts and build for an individual bike are not established by that broad manufacturer statement.
7. Another Dyna-style club bike
Secondary guides commonly associate additional club members with Dyna models, but their character-to-model lists are not a consistent production inventory. A Dyna is still a reasonable family to explore if the goal is the show’s general silhouette; treat any precise character, trim, or year attached to a listing as a claim to verify, not settled screen provenance. 8. A touring Harley associated in secondary guides with club members
Some secondary bike guides include touring-style Harleys among the motorcycles associated with characters. That makes a touring model an interesting contrast to the more stripped-down Dyna and Street Bob silhouettes, but the sources here do not establish a complete, production-confirmed character-and-trim match. Consider this a visual family to investigate in footage, not an authenticated model identification. American Legend Rider’s guide
9. The Sportster prospect-bike look
A Sportster is another model family associated with a prospect in secondary guides. The identification is not backed here by production documentation, so it belongs on a watchlist for fans rather than in a definitive screen-used inventory. Its smaller, more compact profile offers a different visual character from the larger Dyna-based bikes.
10. A 1:18 licensed die-cast motorcycle for display
For fans who want a piece of the show without buying a full-size motorcycle, Maisto’s 2014 catalog documents a licensed 1:18 Sons of Anarchy die-cast motorcycle line with character-associated Harley-Davidson models. A catalog entry proves the line existed then; current stock, variants, sellers, and prices are not established here. A die-cast model is a collectible, not a screen-used motorcycle. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the difference between a Dyna Super Glide and a Super Glide Sport?
They are distinct model names and trims, not interchangeable labels. Harley-Davidson’s 2020 catalog lists FXD/I Super Glide for model years 1995–2010 and FXDX/I Super Glide Sport for 1999–2005. Those are cataloged model-year spans, not proof of the VIN-level identity of a particular bike used on screen. The distinction matters most when researching a real motorcycle: use the exact model designation and year shown in its records, and keep Jax’s recurring bike at the broader “Dyna Super Glide” identification unless stronger documentation is available.

Can you buy a Sons of Anarchy motorcycle?
You can look for a production-era Harley from the same model family, or for a licensed display collectible, but those are different things. The ScreenBid announcement identifies particular auctioned production-used bikes in 2014; it does not establish that they—or any identical builds—are currently for sale. A stock used Dyna or Street Bob is also not automatically the customized screen machine.
Quick Recap
- For a full-size bike: Search model names such as Dyna Super Glide, Dyna Super Glide Sport, or Street Bob, then assess the individual motorcycle’s year, condition, records, modifications, intended use, and local requirements. The show association is not a substitute for an inspection or ownership-history check.
- For a collectible: Maisto’s catalog documents a licensed 1:18 line in 2014, but check current product and seller details independently before buying.
- For a production-used item: Distinguish a dated auction record from a current listing, and request provenance for any present-day claim of screen use.
