Zenvo says its bespoke Mjølner 6.6-litre quad-turbo V12 is designed to produce up to 1,250 bhp on its own, with the Aurora’s hybrid system raising combined output to as much as 1,850 bhp, depending on variant. The Danish maker calls it the world’s most powerful V12 for a production road car; that claim is about V12 engines, not the highest-output road-car engine of any configuration. Those figures remain manufacturer specifications and targets, not independently verified production results.
What is the Zenvo Mjølner V12?
Mjølner is a bespoke 6.6-litre V12 developed by Zenvo with MAHLE Powertrain for the Aurora hypercar. Zenvo’s April 2025 announcement described the engine as quad-turbocharged, with the turbochargers positioned within the V of the engine. The name refers to the hammer associated with the Norse god Thor.
Zenvo’s “world’s most powerful” wording is specifically a claim about a V12 intended for a production road car. It should not be read as a claim that Mjølner is the most powerful road-car engine overall, regardless of configuration. The cited output figures are Zenvo’s specifications and targets; no independent dynamometer result or final certified production figure is established.
How much power does the Zenvo Aurora make?
The key distinction is between the combustion engine and the complete hybrid system. Zenvo gives the Mjølner V12 an output of up to 1,250 bhp and says the Aurora’s combined system can deliver up to 1,850 bhp. The higher figure includes electric-hybrid assistance; it is not the V12’s engine-only output.

Zenvo’s Aurora model information distinguishes two versions, Agil and Tur, and says combined output depends on variant. The available figures do not establish a finalized production specification for each model, so the overall “up to” hybrid number should not be assigned to both versions as though it were identical.

Zenvo presents the Agil and Tur as two interpretations of the Aurora platform, aimed at different kinds of driving rather than as separate engine families.

Because the combined hybrid output varies by variant, a headline number for the Aurora range is not necessarily the rating for every Agil or Tur configuration. Zenvo has not established final customer-production figures in the cited announcements.
What is unusual about the engine’s ignition system?
MAHLE’s technical interview describes the Mjølner as using MAHLE Jet Ignition, a pre-chamber ignition system. In this approach, combustion is initiated in a small chamber and then spreads into the main cylinder through jets of burning mixture. MAHLE discussed its confidence—based on its experience and modeling and simulation—that the engine would meet relevant emissions requirements. That is an engineering expectation, not evidence that emissions certification has been completed.

When will the Zenvo Aurora reach customers?
Zenvo’s development milestones should be kept separate. In April 2025, the company said the first hand-built Mjølner engine unit had been completed while Aurora development continued. That was an engine milestone, not confirmation that vehicle production or customer deliveries had begun.
In its 8 July 2026 update, Zenvo said Aurora validation prototypes were preparing for a public appearance at Goodwood and expected first customer deliveries in the second half of 2027. This is a dated manufacturer plan, not confirmation that the cars have since been delivered. Zenvo says the Aurora was designed, engineered and hand-assembled in Denmark.

What is confirmed—and what remains a target?
The engine’s basic layout, its collaboration with MAHLE Powertrain and Zenvo’s stated output targets are described in the company’s announcements and model information. The 9,800 rpm figure comes from Zenvo’s July 2026 update. These are useful indicators of the intended specification, but they are not a substitute for a final customer-car specification or independent testing.
