The Yanchep round of the 2025 WA Pedal Prix Series was scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at Splendid Park. It was the series’ second round and was billed as the first WA Pedal Prix event held under lights. That date has passed; the event is not upcoming.
What was scheduled at Splendid Park?
PerthNow reported that the race was a six-hour endurance event on a 1.4-kilometre circuit at the Splendid Park criterium track. It was organised by the Western Australian Human Powered Vehicle Association (WAHPVA), with support from the City of Wanneroo. The series had opened the previous month at Wanneroo International Kartway.
PerthNow reported more than 350 racers, 42 entries and 18 teams. Those were figures in the event coverage, not independently verified final participation totals; no final results sheet is established here.
What did “under lights” mean?
Event organiser and competitor Graham Johnson described the Yanchep race as the first WA Pedal Prix event held under lights. However, the City of Wanneroo says Splendid Park’s criterium track has 17 low-level security lights that are “not suitable for racing.” The available information does not establish what lighting arrangement was used during the event, so the headline should not be read as confirmation that the venue’s permanent security lights lit the race.

Where is the Splendid Park circuit?
The City of Wanneroo lists the criterium track at Splendid Park, 1 Splendid Avenue, Yanchep. It is a cycling circuit rather than a road-car race venue, despite the event’s motorsport-like endurance format.

How does Pedal Prix racing work?
Pedal Prix is human-powered vehicle racing. Teams race recumbent bikes around a circuit, with the six-hour Yanchep event testing speed and endurance over repeated laps. PerthNow described dozens of teams taking part or expected to take part in the 2025 round.

Yes. The 2026 WA Pedal Prix schedule listed a separate Yanchep round for June 13, 2026; Yanchep News Online reported hours of 2pm to 8pm. That event has also passed and should not be confused with the 2025 race described above. Its reported schedule and hours do not establish admission terms for the 2025 event.
