Its appeal is less about a single speed figure than about making a personal watercraft more useful for carrying people and equipment. Yamaha’s US page currently lists a starting price of $32,499, a custom aluminum trailer, and 310 L of storage.
What makes the Yamaha CrossWave different?
Most personal watercraft are organized around a fixed seat and limited access to the surrounding deck. Yamaha describes the CrossWave as a full walkaround layout: the bow and deck are arranged so occupants can move around the craft, while the third and fourth seats can be removed to open up space. That gives the design two distinct modes—four-up riding or a more open deck for gear.

Yamaha’s launch announcement presents the CrossWave as a platform for versatility. Bryan Seti, General Manager of Yamaha WaterCraft, said, “The CrossWave is about going farther and doing more — with the space, flexibility, and purpose that a growing segment of the PWC industry has been waiting for.” That is Yamaha’s description of its intent, not an independent assessment of how the craft rides.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Yamaha says the two-piece seat accommodates four passengers, and the third and fourth seats are removable. Taking those seats out creates more usable deck area, but Yamaha’s public descriptions do not specify a resulting cargo payload or a measured deck-area figure. Check the owner’s manual for passenger, load and operating limits for the particular model and market.

T-Track accessory mounting
Integrated T-Tracks are intended to let owners configure the deck for different uses. Yamaha names rod holders, washdown kits, trolling-motor brackets and shallow-water anchors as examples of accessory categories. Those examples do not establish that any specific third-party product will fit; verify dimensions, hardware and suitability with Yamaha or the accessory maker before buying.
Storage for equipment
Yamaha’s current US product page lists 310 L of storage. Its launch materials describe rod storage, an anchor locker and stern compartments, while the current global product page lists 310.5 L. The small difference reflects separate market or page specifications; use the figures for the region and model year you are considering rather than combining them.

Helm, displays and audio
The US listing describes two 7-inch displays: a Connext touchscreen and a Simrad NSX display/chartplotter-fishfinder. Yamaha’s launch material also describes Bluetooth footwell speakers and audio that can be expanded. These are built-in equipment and manufacturer descriptions; confirm the exact configuration on the unit offered in your market.
Integrated clean-out port
Yamaha says an integrated clean-out port lets an operator clear debris from the jet pump without entering the water. The company’s launch materials characterize the feature as a first or only in the industry; those superlatives should be understood as Yamaha’s claims, not independently verified industry-wide findings.

How many people can ride the CrossWave, and can its seats be removed?
Yamaha lists capacity at four people and describes a two-piece, four-passenger seat. The third and fourth seats can be removed to open the rear deck. Removing seats does not increase the rated passenger capacity or replace the craft’s load limits; follow the manual and the capacity information on the unit.

What are the CrossWave’s speed and range?
Yamaha’s 2026 award announcement reports an approximate top speed of 55 mph and range greater than 100 miles with reserve. These are manufacturer-reported figures; Yamaha’s announcement does not provide independent test results or the conditions and method used. They should not be treated as guaranteed speeds or trip distances, which can vary with load, water and operating conditions.

Martino Ruggiero, Yamaha WaveRunner product manager, said in the award announcement, “We created a platform that delivers ultimate versatility without sacrificing the fun, confidence, and ride character a Yamaha WaveRunner is known for.” This is Yamaha’s characterization; the available specifications do not establish independent handling, reliability, fuel-economy or ride-test results.

Fuel requirement and regional specification differences
Yamaha’s US page recommends premium unleaded fuel, while Yamaha Motor’s global specification page lists regular unleaded for its regional product information. Fuel guidance therefore differs by market. Use the owner’s manual and dealer guidance for the specific CrossWave sold in your region rather than applying one market’s recommendation worldwide.
Yamaha’s launch announcement used some figures that differ from the current US listing: it described a 12 ft 11 in craft, 82 gallons of storage, a Yamaha marine trailer and a 55-quart cooler as included. Those are historical launch details, not a reason to overwrite the current US page’s specifications; check the current configuration and included equipment with a dealer.
Who is the CrossWave best suited to?
The layout is aimed at riders who want a PWC that can carry four people and accommodate equipment, with the option of removing the rear seats and configuring the deck. The T-Tracks, storage compartments and walkaround access are the central practical differences from a conventional fixed-seat layout. Whether those features justify the asking price depends on how often you will use the open deck and accessory-mounting options.
Yamaha’s published materials establish the design, listed specifications and its own speed and range claims, but they do not establish independent handling, reliability, fuel economy, owner satisfaction, dealer inventory or compatibility of unnamed third-party accessories. A comparison with another craft is most useful when it checks actual local equipment and price alongside passenger capacity, seating flexibility, storage, fuel requirement and comparable independent performance tests.
