Yamaha and John Deere have agreed to work together on future side-by-side vehicles, but they have not announced a specific model or when one will go on sale. The October 6, 2026 U.S. announcement describes a collaboration involving joint development and mutual supply; Yamaha’s global announcement followed on October 7.
What did Yamaha and John Deere announce?
The companies will collaborate in the recreational off-highway vehicle (ROV) segment, also called side-by-side (SxS) vehicles in Yamaha’s U.S. announcement. They describe the arrangement as joint development and mutual supply, with the aim of exploring further collaboration opportunities. The agreement is not a reveal of a named vehicle currently available to buy.
Yamaha’s global announcement says the companies have built their relationship through earlier cooperation in low-speed mobility. It presents the ROV agreement as a possible starting point for future collaboration, not as confirmation of a particular vehicle or a broader, specified deal. Yamaha Motor’s October 7 announcement and John Deere’s October 6 announcement describe the arrangement.

Will the vehicles be sold as Yamaha or John Deere products?
The companies say each will retain its own brand, dealer and sales channels, and customer relationships. They have not said whether a future vehicle will be offered under one brand, in distinct brand-specific versions, or through another arrangement, so the announced channel commitments should not be read as a decision about the branding of an unnamed model.
When will the new side-by-sides be available?
No collaborative model name, specifications, price, order date, or launch date has been announced. John Deere says product details will be shared at the appropriate time. Until then, there is no confirmed release schedule or basis for comparing the future vehicles on performance or price.

Are Yamaha’s current Wolverine and Viking models part of the partnership?
Not according to the announcements. Yamaha’s separate 2026 SxS lineup announcement names Wolverine and Viking models, but neither it nor the collaboration releases identifies those existing vehicles as jointly developed products. The agreement does not establish a change to current model availability or service arrangements.

Once the companies identify specific vehicles, useful points of comparison will include work capability, comfort, specifications, price, availability, and dealer and service arrangements. For now, those details have not been published for any collaborative model, so claims about its capabilities or value would be premature.
