XPENG AEROHT’s Land Aircraft Carrier is a detachable electric aircraft carried by a six-wheel road vehicle—not a car that flies with its wheels on the ground. XPENG initially forecast deliveries for late 2025, then shifted its plan to 2026. The latest reported milestone is batch trial production and aircraft test flights in March 2026; that does not confirm customer deliveries or public availability.
What is XPENG’s Land Aircraft Carrier?
The Land Aircraft Carrier is a two-part system: a road-going ground module transports and recharges a separate piloted electric aircraft. The aircraft detaches for vertical takeoff and low-altitude flight; the carrier itself is not designed to fly.
In its January 2024 announcement, XPENG AEROHT described the ground module as a three-axle, six-wheel vehicle with all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering, seating for four to five people, and the ability to accommodate and recharge the aircraft. The air module was described as fully electric, with a two-person cockpit. These are company-reported design details from an early announcement, not independently verified final production specifications. XPENG AEROHT’s January 2024 announcement
When will XPENG deliver the Land Aircraft Carrier?
The delivery target has changed. In January 2024, XPENG AEROHT said pre-orders were expected in the fourth quarter of that year and deliveries to individual users were planned to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. In January 2025, XPENG said mass production and delivery were planned for 2026. The earlier 2025 target was a forecast, not a completed launch. January 2024 forecast; XPENG’s January 2025 update

Is the XPENG flying car available to buy?
The announcements establish company-reported order figures and production activity, but do not establish completed customer handovers, a final retail price, or where an individual owner could legally fly the aircraft. XPENG’s January 2025 update reported more than 3,000 advance orders; the company later reported more than 7,000 global orders in November 2025. Neither figure should be read as a count of delivered vehicles.
XPENG has said its facility is designed for annual capacity of 10,000 units, with 5,000 in the initial phase, and a full-capacity rate of one aircraft every 30 minutes. Those are company-stated capacity plans and a production-rate target, not measured output. XPENG’s November 2025 announcement

Has XPENG’s flying car been certified?
XPENG said in January 2025 that the aircraft’s type-certificate application had been accepted by China’s Civil Aviation Administration in early 2024. Acceptance of an application is not a type certificate. The announcements cited here do not establish that certification has been granted or specify the operating permissions a private owner would need. XPENG’s January 2025 update

XPENG’s November 2025 announcement discussed two distinct aircraft programs. The Land Aircraft Carrier pairs a detachable electric aircraft with a road vehicle and was described as approaching mass production. The A868 is a separate six-seat tilt-rotor hybrid project; XPENG said it had entered flight verification. They are not different names for the same flying car. XPENG’s November 2025 announcement
