What is the XPENG GX?
The GX is XPENG’s full-size flagship SUV. XPENG opened pre-orders on April 15, 2026, then announced that the vehicle launched in Beijing on May 20. The launch announcement was published May 21, 2026. Those dates establish a China-market launch; they do not establish ordering or delivery availability in other countries.
XPENG lists two powertrain families, each with four trims: BEV and super range-extended electric. The range-extended version is presented as an electric vehicle with a combustion engine providing additional range; the published figures distinguish its electric-only range from its combined range. The release does not establish which version is preferable in real-world driving.

CLTC is the test-cycle basis XPENG uses for these figures. They are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent real-world results. The 750 km claim applies to the BEV four-wheel-drive version; it should not be read as the range of every BEV trim. The range-extended figure separates electric-only driving from the stated combined total.
For a purchase decision, compare the exact trim, powertrain, local price and confirmed delivery availability in the market where you intend to buy. The available launch information does not provide a basis for declaring one GX powertrain a real-world range winner.

What does steer-by-wire mean on the GX?
XPENG describes the GX as having a native line-by-wire chassis with line-by-wire front steering. In a steer-by-wire system, steering inputs are conveyed electronically rather than solely through a conventional mechanical connection between the steering control and the front wheels. XPENG also specifies rear-wheel steering as standard.
The company describes an integrated chassis-control system, air suspension and line-by-wire hydraulic braking alongside those steering systems. These are XPENG’s product descriptions, not independently verified test findings. The launch materials do not make steer-by-wire a safety certification, nor do they establish that the consumer GX is a fully autonomous vehicle.

Does the XPENG GX look like a Range Rover?
CnEVPost’s April 8, 2026 report described a resemblance between the GX’s side profile and a Range Rover. That is a visual comparison, not evidence of shared design work, a mechanical relationship, or Land Rover involvement. XPENG’s launch information gives the GX’s dimensions as 5,265 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,800 mm tall, with a 3,115 mm wheelbase.
