The Xiaomi SU7 update is no longer “coming”: Xiaomi says its new-generation SU7 launched in mainland China in March 2026. Prices are RMB 219,900 for the Standard, RMB 249,900 for the Pro and RMB 303,900 for the Max. The entry model costs RMB 4,000 more than the previous Standard’s list price, but RMB 10,000 less than the new Standard’s pre-sale price. The comparison depends on which price you use.
What does the new Xiaomi SU7 cost?
Xiaomi’s 2025 annual report lists these mainland China launch prices for the new-generation SU7:
| Trim | Launch price in mainland China | Company-stated maximum CLTC range |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | RMB 219,900 | Not stated in the cited annual-report material |
| Pro | RMB 249,900 | Up to 902 km |
| Max | RMB 303,900 | Not stated in the cited annual-report material |
Prices and the Pro range are from Xiaomi Corporation’s 2025 Annual Report, published in 2026. The 902 km figure is a manufacturer-stated CLTC test-cycle figure, not a promise of real-world driving distance. These prices are for mainland China; the cited material does not establish prices or availability in other markets.
Is the facelift more expensive?
At the entry trim, yes, if the comparison is with the previous generation’s list price. The new Standard’s RMB 219,900 launch price is RMB 4,000 above the prior Standard’s RMB 215,900 list price, a difference calculated from the prices reported by CarNewsChina and Xiaomi’s annual report. This is a comparison of reported list prices, not a separately announced Xiaomi increase.

But the final launch price was lower than the new car’s pre-sale quote. Reuters reported a Standard pre-sale price of RMB 229,900; against the RMB 219,900 launch price, that is RMB 10,000 less. So “it costs more” is accurate only against the previous Standard’s list price—not against the new model’s pre-sale price. The final prices differ from some expectations circulated before launch.
What changed on the new-generation SU7?
Xiaomi describes the update as spanning safety, driving performance, intelligent features and comfort. The details below are manufacturer claims or reported configuration information, not independent test results or a complete old-versus-new trim comparison.
Powertrain and range
- Xiaomi lists a silicon-carbide high-voltage platform across the lineup.
- The company says the HyperEngine V6s Plus achieves 94% energy transmission efficiency from battery to wheels. This is Xiaomi’s stated figure, not an independently verified efficiency result.
- The Pro is listed with a maximum range of 902 km under the CLTC test cycle. The cited material does not establish equivalent real-world range.
Assisted-driving hardware and software
Xiaomi lists LiDAR as standard and assisted-driving compute rated at 700 TOPS. It says the latest Xiaomi HAD system uses its XLA architecture. These specifications describe hardware and the company’s system; they do not by themselves establish how the system performs in everyday driving.

- Direct Replacement Fit:Designed to match common OEM specifications for most sedan, SUV and light truck models. Please verify fitment with your vehicle's year, make and model before purchase.
- Straightforward Installation:No complex wiring or modifications required, can be installed following standard vehicle maintenance steps in approximately 30 minutes with common tools.
- Long-Lasting Durability:Constructed with high-impact ABS housing and corrosion-resistant metal gears, built for extended service life under normal operating conditions.
- Smooth Quiet Performance:Precision motor design reduces operational noise, maintains stable response in common temperature ranges from -40°F to 185°F.
- Built-in Protection:Integrated overload protection helps prevent motor overheating during regular use, meets common automotive component safety requirements.
Chassis and body
Xiaomi introduces Smart Chassis 2.0. CarNewsChina reports a “Dragon Chassis” layout with front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, and says higher trims add dual-chamber air suspension with adaptive damping and predictive road-condition control. Those are media-reported configuration details; check the exact trim specification when comparing equipment.
Xiaomi describes an “armor-cage” steel-aluminum body incorporating 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel. It also says its battery packs have undergone more than 1,230 safety tests. These are company descriptions and reported test counts, not independent crash or long-term durability assessments.
Door handles and China’s safety rules
Reuters reported that the new SU7 replaces hidden handles with mechanical handles and includes a dedicated backup power supply. Xiaomi says the design meets upcoming 2027 Chinese national safety standards. That statement concerns Chinese standards and should not be read as a certification claim for other jurisdictions.

Why earlier price reports do not match the final price
Before launch, coverage discussed possible increases and rumor-based figures. Those were forecasts, not final prices: in November 2025, CarNewsChina reported social-media claims of a RMB 9,900 increase and said Xiaomi customer service had not announced a facelift or price change at that time. A December report also described a refresh and expected increase.
In January 2026, CnEVPost reported pre-sale prices of RMB 229,900, RMB 259,900 and RMB 309,900 for the Standard, Pro and Max. The final launch prices were lower for all three trims: RMB 219,900, RMB 249,900 and RMB 303,900. Xiaomi’s annual report and launch-day reporting supersede those pre-sale figures for the final prices.
What the price and specifications do—and do not—show
The new Standard’s list-price increase over its predecessor is modest in absolute terms, while the final pre-sale-to-launch reduction is larger. The listed equipment and Xiaomi’s claims indicate a broad update, but the cited information does not provide a full, independently verified specification matrix across matching old and new trims. Nor does it establish independent real-world range, comparative testing, market-by-market availability or long-term reliability. A buyer should compare the exact local trim and its equipment rather than assume every listed change applies uniformly or represents a proven improvement.
Reuters also attributed a comparison to Xiaomi chief executive Lei Jun, who said the updated SU7 was less expensive and had longer range than the Tesla Model 3. That is an attributed company comparison, not an independent head-to-head test; it does not replace checking the relevant versions, prices and range figures in the buyer’s market.
