Xiaomi’s Vision Gran Turismo is a full-scale electric hypercar concept created for the Gran Turismo franchise—not an announced road car. Xiaomi displayed it at MWC Barcelona on March 2, 2026; the headline 1,900-hp figure and its aerodynamic numbers are reported concept specifications, not independently tested production-car results.
Is the Xiaomi Vision GT a real car?
It is real as a full-scale concept model, but Xiaomi’s March 2026 announcement describes it as a design created for the Gran Turismo project and does not announce a production version. The reveal took place at MWC Barcelona in Spain. Xiaomi said at the time that details about the car’s arrival in Gran Turismo 7 would follow.
The distinction matters: a full-size display model and a set of concept specifications do not establish that a road-going car exists, is for sale, or has been validated on a track. Xiaomi’s project page identifies it as the 36th brand in the Vision Gran Turismo program, and says Xiaomi is the first Chinese brand and first technology company invited to participate. Xiaomi’s Vision Gran Turismo project page and its MWC announcement frame the car as a concept.
How much horsepower does the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo have?
Electrek reported a 1,900-hp headline figure for the concept in its March 2, 2026, specifications article. That figure should be read as a reported concept specification: the accessible Xiaomi project-page text does not state the power figure, and there is no independently tested road-going Vision GT established by the cited reports. Electrek’s specification report also lists these aerodynamic figures:

- Drag coefficient: 0.29. Electrek attributes this specification to Xiaomi’s official press release.
- Downforce: -1.2, as printed in Electrek’s article. Its accessible text does not state a unit or convention, so the number should not be interpreted more specifically.
- Aerodynamic efficiency: 4.1, with no unit stated in the accessible article text.
These figures describe the concept as reported; they are not results from an independent test of a production vehicle.
What is distinctive about the design?
Airflow-focused bodywork
Xiaomi calls the exterior “Sculpted by the Wind.” Its description of the Active Wake Control System says thousands of microholes vary airflow according to the car’s real-time speed and posture, with the aim of reducing turbulence while keeping the bodywork visually seamless. This is Xiaomi’s account of the design, not evidence of independently verified system performance.

A “Sofa Racer” cockpit
Xiaomi describes the interior as a cocoon-shaped “Sofa Racer” cockpit, with an X-shaped steering wheel and steer-by-wire. The company also says the concept links to its “Human x Car x Home” ecosystem and uses Xiaomi ecosystem and AI capabilities for personalized experiences. These are concept descriptions; the announcement does not establish that the features are available in a production car.
Will the Xiaomi Vision GT be in Gran Turismo 7?
Yes. In an official Gran Turismo item dated October 3, 2026, the series said footage of the car had been shown at the Gran Turismo World Series round in Singapore and that the Vision Gran Turismo would come to Gran Turismo 7 with the Spec IV update in October. The announcement gives an October release window, not a specific day. As of October 8, 2026, it does not by itself confirm that the update has already launched. Gran Turismo’s October 3 announcement is in Russian.

Vision Gran Turismo is a design program associated with the Gran Turismo games, giving automakers a setting to present forward-looking concept cars. Xiaomi’s project page says it is the 36th participating brand and the first Chinese brand and technology company invited. The car’s styling, cockpit and stated ecosystem ideas express Xiaomi’s vision for a future performance EV; they should not be mistaken for a product specification sheet for a car customers can order.

Xiaomi’s page attributes this assessment to Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi: “Xiaomi Vision GT will become a role model for this era.” It is a statement about the concept’s ambition, not a production commitment.
