The SU7 Pro starts at about $34,700, while the SU7 Max starts at about $42,200.
Those are Chinese-market prices, not U.S. prices. Xiaomi does not currently sell the SU7 through a U.S. dealer network, has no U.S. MSRP, and has not announced a U.S. launch date. Importing one privately is also far more complicated than paying the Chinese price and arranging overseas shipping.

How much does the Xiaomi SU7 cost?
Xiaomi launched the second-generation SU7 in China on March 19, 2026. The range consists of three main versions:

The dollar figures are simple currency conversions using RMB 7.20 per U.S. dollar. They do not represent a U.S. selling price and leave out shipping, insurance, customs charges, import duties, compliance work, state registration and other costs.

What does the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra cost?
The performance-oriented SU7 Ultra sits above the regular Standard, Pro and Max models. Xiaomi lists the following Chinese prices:

Xiaomi says the SU7 Ultra and its functions are currently available only in Mainland China. Orders are handled through the Xiaomi EV App or Xiaomi EV WeChat Mini Program there.
Are the often-quoted lower prices still current?
Not for the new-generation car. Prices of RMB 215,900 for the Standard, RMB 245,900 for the Pro and RMB 299,900 for the Max refer to the first-generation SU7 launched in March 2024.
Those figures may still appear in older reviews, videos and search results, but they should be labeled as original 2024 pricing rather than used as the current cost of a new-generation SU7.
Can you buy a Xiaomi SU7 in the United States?
Not through an official U.S. sales channel. As of August 9, 2026, Xiaomi has no U.S. retail operation, dealer network or American MSRP for the SU7. The company has also not announced a U.S. launch date. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said in February 2026 that Xiaomi EV had no immediate plans to enter the U.S. market.

A Xiaomi vehicle appearing on an American road does not prove that the model is being sold here. Lei Jun said the YU7 seen in the United States was likely acquired by a U.S. company or supplier for benchmarking. The same distinction matters for any SU7 sighting: a test, research or privately transported vehicle is not evidence of normal U.S. availability.
Can a U.S. buyer privately import one?
A Chinese-market SU7 cannot simply be ordered, shipped to the United States and registered for regular road use. Federal safety and emissions requirements create the main barriers.

For a permanent import, a vehicle less than 25 years old generally must either have been manufactured and certified to meet all applicable U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, or be determined eligible for importation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and brought into compliance through a Registered Importer.
There is no indication that the Chinese-market SU7 carries a U.S. FMVSS certification label or appears on an NHTSA eligibility listing. The 25-year exemption does not help with a current SU7: the vehicle would need to be at least 25 years old, calculated from its manufacturing date.
EPA requirements still apply to an electric car
The SU7 is battery-electric, but that does not remove the federal import process. Imported vehicles must also satisfy Environmental Protection Agency requirements. EPA-certified vehicles generally need an applicable Certificate of Conformity, and passenger-vehicle import declarations use EPA Form 3520-1.

The absence of a gasoline engine means there are no tailpipe emissions to certify in the ordinary sense, but it does not waive the separate NHTSA safety rules, EPA import declarations or other federal requirements.

Are temporary imports possible?
Some nonconforming vehicles may enter the United States temporarily for limited purposes, including:
- Research
- Testing
- Demonstration
- Training
- Racing or competition
- Show or display
These exceptions are not ordinary consumer purchase routes. NHTSA generally requires the vehicle to be exported or destroyed when the authorized period ends. A non-U.S. resident may also be able to bring in a nonconforming vehicle temporarily for personal use for up to one year, subject to the applicable conditions. That is not a practical way for a U.S. resident to keep and register an SU7 permanently.
How would U.S. tariffs affect the price?
Even if the certification problem were solved, the Chinese purchase price would not be the final landed cost. The United States announced a 100% Section 301 tariff rate on Chinese electric vehicles in 2024, in addition to other potentially applicable duties and import expenses.
The exact amount for a shipment depends on its customs classification and the rules in force when it arrives, so an importer would need to check the current Harmonized Tariff Schedule and confirm the classification with customs professionals. Shipping, marine insurance, port fees, customs brokerage, modification work and state registration could add substantially more.

Tariffs, however, are not the primary obstacle. Paying the Chinese price, shipping the car across the Pacific and paying the applicable duties would not automatically make a Chinese-market SU7 legal to sell, drive or register in the United States.

Anyone considering an import should obtain written answers before sending money to a seller or shipping agent:
- Vehicle identity: Confirm the exact model year, VIN and market specification. A Chinese-market vehicle is not automatically equivalent to a future U.S.-certified version.
- NHTSA status: Check whether the specific make, model and model year has an eligibility determination and whether a Registered Importer can bring it into compliance.
- EPA status: Confirm the required EPA certification and import documentation, including whether Form 3520-1 can be properly filed.
- Customs cost: Get the current tariff classification and a written estimate covering duties, port charges and brokerage.
- State registration: Ask the relevant state motor-vehicle agency whether it will title and register that exact imported vehicle after federal requirements are met.
- Service and software: Confirm parts availability, warranty coverage, charging compatibility, mapping, connectivity and whether the vehicle’s software is restricted to China.
Without satisfactory answers to the federal compliance and state-registration questions, a low Chinese sticker price is not a usable U.S. ownership cost.

Can I order a Xiaomi SU7 from China and register it in the United States?
There is no ordinary official purchase route, and a current Chinese-market SU7 cannot simply be shipped over and registered. A permanent import would need to satisfy NHTSA safety requirements, EPA requirements, customs rules and state-registration requirements.
Does the 25-year import rule make the Xiaomi SU7 legal in America?
No. The 25-year exemption applies only when a vehicle is at least 25 years old, calculated from its manufacturing date. It does not provide a shortcut for importing a current SU7.

A private import is not a normal buyer-friendly alternative: the car would need to clear NHTSA and EPA requirements, customs and tariffs, and state registration. For an American shopper, the SU7 is currently a Chinese-market car—not a model you can realistically buy and register through ordinary U.S. channels.
