CFMOTO will replace Yamaha as the exclusive motorcycle supplier for the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) from the 2027 season. Riders will compete on the CFMOTO 675SR-R under a three-season agreement covering 2027 through 2029. WorldWCR will remain a one-make championship, and Michelin will become its single tyre supplier from 2027.
What is changing for WorldWCR in 2027?
The change is a supplier handover, not a move away from the championship’s equal-machinery format. WorldSBK’s announcement on 9 October 2026 names the CFMOTO 675SR-R as the series’ motorcycle and says the agreement runs for three seasons, 2027–2029. Yamaha’s partnership concludes after the 2026 season.

What is the CFMOTO 675SR-R?
It is the model WorldSBK has designated for WorldWCR from 2027. The announcement describes it as having a 675cc three-cylinder engine and says it delivers around 15 hp more than the current platform. That is a relative figure, not an absolute horsepower rating: the announcement does not give an exact output or a race-specification technical sheet.

The approximate increase is the championship’s stated comparison, not an independent test or a complete performance comparison between the two race packages. The release does not establish consumer availability, regional sales, price, or retail specifications for the 675SR-R.
Will WorldWCR still be a one-make championship?
Yes. WorldSBK says the series will retain its one-make format, with identical machinery for competitors. The stated aim is to keep rider ability central even as the motorcycle changes. The transition therefore introduces a new supplier and model without announcing an open choice of motorcycle brands for teams.

WorldSBK Executive Director Gregorio Lavilla said: “The CFMOTO 675SR-R gives our riders a more powerful motorcycle to master and a new challenge to help them develop, while retaining the equal technical conditions that make their ability count.” This is the championship executive’s explanation of the change, not an independent assessment of performance.

What happens to Yamaha’s WorldWCR partnership?
Yamaha’s partnership ends after the 2026 season, following three seasons as the championship’s motorcycle supplier. WorldWCR launched in 2024 with Yamaha R7 motorcycles; those bikes remain the relevant platform for the series through 2026, before the CFMOTO handover.

CFMOTO Motorsports Management Center General Manager Samantha Liu said: “Becoming the official motorcycle supplier for the 2027–2029 WorldWCR seasons marks an important new chapter in CFMOTO’s global motorsport journey.” The statement reflects the supplier’s view of the agreement.
What else changes with the motorcycle transition?
Michelin is announced as WorldWCR’s single tyre supplier from 2027, coinciding with the switch to CFMOTO. WorldSBK’s announcement does not name a tyre model, so it does not establish which specific Michelin tyres competitors will use.

Where does the change fit in WorldWCR’s early history?
WorldSBK says that since the championship’s opening round at Misano in June 2024, WorldWCR had welcomed 55 riders representing 25 nationalities. Ana Carrasco won the inaugural 2024 title, and Maria Herrera won the 2025 championship. The CFMOTO agreement is the next announced supplier chapter after Yamaha’s first three seasons.
