That combination is why the GTS stands out on paper. The figures below are Porsche’s claims, not independent test results or firsthand driving impressions.
What makes the 911 GTS T-Hybrid different?
For the 2025 model, Porsche introduced a road-legal 911 performance-hybrid powertrain built around a new 3.6-liter boxer engine. Porsche describes it as the first road-legal 911 with this kind of hybrid system. It is designed to support combustion-engine performance rather than to provide an established electric-only driving mode; the cited sources do not establish plug-in capability.
The system brings together an electrically driven exhaust turbocharger, a compact high-voltage battery, power electronics and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Porsche says the eTurbo’s motor spins the turbo quickly and can recover energy from the exhaust stream. The transmission motor can add torque and recuperate energy as well.
Porsche’s stated engineering aim is to improve response and performance while keeping the system compact. Frank Moser, Porsche vice-president of the 911 and 718 model lines, described the result as a powertrain integrated into the car’s overall concept. That is the manufacturer’s explanation of its intent, not independent evidence of handling feel, efficiency or long-term durability.

How fast is the 911 Carrera GTS?
Porsche USA currently lists 532 hp and 449 lb-ft of torque for the Carrera GTS as combined system output. Those numbers include the hybrid system; they are not the combustion engine’s standalone figures. At launch, Porsche listed the 3.6-liter engine alone at 478 hp and 420 lb-ft.
| Published specification | Figure and qualification |
|---|---|
| Combined system power | 532 hp, Porsche USA’s current Carrera GTS listing |
| Combined system torque | 449 lb-ft, Porsche USA’s current Carrera GTS listing |
| 0–60 mph | 2.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche USA’s current listing |
| Top track speed | 194 mph with summer tires, Porsche USA’s current listing |
| Battery capacity | 1.9 kWh gross for the 400-volt battery, Porsche’s 2024 launch information |
These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independently measured results. Porsche’s launch information also puts the U.S. Carrera GTS Coupe 103 pounds above its predecessor. That is a specific manufacturer comparison; whether the increase feels small or significant is a matter of context and has not been established here through a road test.

What chassis equipment comes with the GTS?
Porsche USA lists rear-axle steering and PASM Sport Suspension lowered by 10 mm as standard GTS features. Porsche says rear-axle steering aids maneuverability at low speeds and stability at high speeds. Those are the manufacturer’s stated benefits; this evidence does not establish how they feel in real-world driving.
The engineering package gives the GTS a clear performance case: substantial claimed output, a rapid published acceleration figure when equipped with Sport Chrono, and standard chassis hardware. It does not, by itself, answer whether the car is more enjoyable than another 911. That depends on driving experience and priorities not established by the published specifications.

Is the Porsche 911 GTS worth it?
Porsche USA currently lists a starting MSRP of $181,000 for the Carrera GTS. The listed price is a starting point, not a guaranteed transaction price: Porsche excludes options, taxes, title, registration, delivery and processing fees, dealer charges and potential tariffs, and dealers set actual prices. Check the live Porsche USA Carrera GTS page for the current listing and configuration details.
Whether that price is justified depends on how much value you place on the GTS’s specific combination of hybrid-assisted performance, standard chassis equipment and 911 format. The available evidence supports the specifications and price Porsche publishes; it does not establish independent value comparisons, real-world fuel economy, maintenance costs, reliability or resale value.

How does the 911 GTS compare with other 911s?
Porsche’s materials identify Carrera GTS, Carrera 4 GTS, Cabriolet and Targa 4 GTS variants. They establish a range of body styles and rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations, but do not provide a complete, consistently sourced side-by-side set of current prices, outputs, acceleration figures and equipment for every variant. A full numerical comparison would therefore risk implying differences that are not established here.
For a practical comparison, first decide whether you want a Coupe, Cabriolet or Targa, then whether the listed variant’s drive configuration fits your needs. Compare each exact configuration on Porsche’s current model pages for price, equipment and performance figures before choosing. Porsche’s 911 Carrera GTS press resources identify the GTS family and related materials.

What the published evidence can—and cannot—tell you
Porsche’s technical information supports a strong specification-led argument for the GTS: the T-Hybrid combines an electrically assisted turbo and transmission motor with a new flat-six, and Porsche reports a 103-pound increase for the U.S. Coupe compared with its predecessor. But there are no independent drive impressions or personal test findings established here. Nor do these sources establish EPA fuel economy, real-world efficiency, owner reliability, long-term costs or current dealer availability.
Porsche’s technical press kit lists WLTP combined fuel consumption of 10.6–10.1 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 242–230 g/km for the Carrera GTS. These are WLTP figures, not U.S. EPA ratings or a prediction of an individual driver’s fuel use.
