The 2024 Toyota Venza combines a hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive and Toyota-estimated 39 mpg combined in a four-grade crossover lineup. Toyota has discontinued the Venza nameplate, but says it will continue providing service-center care. For used-car shoppers, the real question is whether a particular Venza’s price, trim and cargo needs make sense—not whether discontinuation alone makes it a bad buy.
What makes the 2024 Venza worth a look?
The Venza’s appeal is its combination of features rather than a proven advantage over every rival. Toyota’s 2024 specifications pair a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system producing 219 net system horsepower with electronic on-demand all-wheel drive as standard equipment. Toyota’s brochure lists fuel economy of 40 mpg city, 37 highway and 39 combined, all EPA estimates—not a promise of what an individual driver will achieve. Toyota’s 2024 Venza brochure and 2024 Venza announcement provide the manufacturer’s specifications.
Toyota described the cabin as “fashionable” and “quiet”; those are the automaker’s promotional characterizations, not independent measurements. The equipment mix also changes by grade, so the Venza is best assessed as a specific used vehicle rather than as one uniform package.
What changed when Toyota discontinued the Venza?
Toyota labels the Venza discontinued and presents the Crown Signia as its next step. The company says it will continue providing expert care for Venza vehicles through Toyota Service Centers. That is a stated service commitment; it does not establish future parts inventory, repair costs or resale value. Discontinuation by itself is not evidence that parts will be unavailable or that a Venza will be unreliable. Toyota’s discontinued-vehicles page explains its position.

Which Venza trim has the equipment you want?
Toyota offered four grades for 2024: LE, XLE, Nightshade Edition and Limited. Displays, upholstery and audio equipment vary. For example, Toyota’s 2024 release describes 7-inch information displays in LE and XLE, while Limited includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch head-up display. Verify the exact equipment and any package content on the vehicle you are considering; a model-year brochure cannot confirm what an individual listing includes. Toyota’s 2024 Venza release outlines grade differences.
Safety and driver assistance
Toyota lists Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ as standard, including features such as pre-collision assistance, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, road sign assist and automatic high beams. These are driver-assistance functions with operating limits, not guarantees that a collision can be prevented. Check the vehicle’s equipment and consult its owner’s manual for system details and limitations. Toyota’s brochure describes the listed systems.

What should used-car buyers check?
- Confirm the grade and equipment. Match the VIN and listing details to the features you care about, especially displays, audio and upholstery.
- Check warranty status by date and mileage. Toyota’s 2024 brochure lists coverage for the high-voltage battery for 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. It lists the battery control module, hybrid control module and inverter with converter for 8 years or 100,000 miles. Terms apply, and these original coverage limits do not show how much coverage remains on a particular used vehicle. Check its in-service date, mileage and applicable warranty documents. Toyota’s brochure summarizes the coverage.
- Use the specified fuel. The 2024 owner’s manual specifies unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. 2024 Venza owner’s manual
- Check accessory fit before ordering. Toyota names Venza all-weather floor liners and an all-weather cargo tray. Confirm model-year and trim compatibility and the actual item’s fitment before buying. Toyota’s brochure lists these accessories.
Should you compare it with the Crown Signia?
Toyota introduced the 2025 Crown Signia as the next step after the Venza. Toyota’s June 2024 announcement lists standard AWD, 240 horsepower and EPA-estimated fuel economy of 39 mpg city, 37 highway and 38 combined. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independent comparative test results. Toyota’s Crown Signia announcement has the model’s stated specifications.
| Comparison point | 2024 Toyota Venza | 2025 Toyota Crown Signia |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 219 net system horsepower; Toyota 2024 brochure | 240 hp; Toyota USA Newsroom, June 2024 announcement |
| Drivetrain | Electronic on-demand AWD standard; Toyota 2024 specifications | AWD standard; Toyota USA Newsroom, June 2024 announcement |
| EPA-estimated fuel economy | 40 city / 37 highway / 39 combined mpg; Toyota 2024 brochure | 39 city / 37 highway / 38 combined mpg; Toyota USA Newsroom, June 2024 announcement |
| Grades | LE, XLE, Nightshade Edition and Limited; Toyota 2024 specifications | Not stated in the cited Toyota announcement |
Choose between them by comparing the cost and condition of a used Venza with the cost and availability of a Crown Signia, then checking each vehicle’s grade-specific comfort and technology. Cargo dimensions are not established in the cited specifications, so measure the space you need in person rather than assuming one is roomier. The Venza’s established 2024 package may suit a buyer seeking that specific combination; the newer Signia may merit a look if you are shopping for the successor. The available manufacturer figures do not establish a universal winner.
