Which Ram 1500 control arms are composite?
The claim refers to the front upper control arms on the fifth-generation truck, not every control arm or every Ram 1500. The 2019-model-year description distinguishes composite upper arms from aluminum lower arms. Configuration can also vary by trim: Stellantis describes the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO with forged-aluminum upper and lower control arms. Check the exact model year and trim rather than assuming one material applies across the lineup.

Does composite construction mean the arms are weak?
“Composite” by itself does not establish strength, durability, or failure risk. Mevotech criticizes features of the original design, including hollow areas and a plastic ball-joint liner, but those are claims from an aftermarket supplier selling alternatives. They do not establish a widespread failure pattern or an independent durability comparison.
