Marques Brownlee’s December 5, 2025 video about Xiaomi’s SU7 is framed around a favorable view: its description says, “Xiaomi (yes, that Xiaomi) made a ridiculously good car for the price.” But that video predates Xiaomi’s new-generation SU7 announcement in March 2026, so it should not be treated as a review of the 2026 SU7 Max.
What Brownlee’s video says—and what it doesn’t
Brownlee titled the video “Driving Xiaomi’s Electric Car: Are we Cooked?” Its description supplies the clearest evidence of his positive assessment: “Xiaomi (yes, that Xiaomi) made a ridiculously good car for the price.” That is his opinion, not an independent performance measurement.
The video page lists chapters covering the car, interior features, modularity, driving impressions and the question “Are we cooked?” Those chapter labels show the topics he addresses, but they do not establish the specific conclusions he reached in each segment. Without verified review text, it would be misleading to attribute detailed praise or criticism to him.
Which SU7 Max was he discussing?
The video was published on December 5, 2025. Xiaomi’s March 2026 investor presentation says the company introduced a new-generation SU7 series that month. The dates distinguish the cars: Brownlee’s video is not a review of the new-generation 2026 SU7 Max.

That distinction matters when comparing the video with specifications or prices published later. Figures for the earlier Max do not automatically describe the new-generation model, and the 2026 presentation’s numbers for other trims should not be assigned to the Max.
What Xiaomi lists for the new-generation SU7 Max
Xiaomi’s March 2026 investor presentation lists the new-generation SU7 Max at RMB 303,900. That is the price shown in Xiaomi’s presentation; it does not establish a delivered price or availability in any particular market outside the context provided by Xiaomi.

The same presentation lists range figures of 720 km for the new-generation Standard and 902 km for the Pro. Neither figure is attributed to the new-generation Max, so neither should be quoted as its range.
Earlier SU7 Max specifications, kept in context
Xiaomi’s March 2024 investor presentation published the following figures for the earlier-generation SU7 Max. They are manufacturer claims, not independent test results, and they should not be carried forward as specifications for the 2026 model.

These numbers give useful context for the earlier car, but they do not independently verify Brownlee’s driving impressions. Nor do they provide a sound basis for a direct specification comparison with the new generation unless Xiaomi publishes comparable figures for the same trim and measurement basis.

Brownlee’s video description clearly signals enthusiasm about the SU7’s value, while the available chapter list indicates that the video also explores its interior, modularity and driving. The specific details of his evaluation should be taken from the video itself rather than inferred from those labels. Separately, Xiaomi’s 2026 presentation identifies a new-generation Max and lists its price, but does not assign the Standard or Pro range figures to it.
