Faye Hadley is an automotive technician, educator and television personality best known for All Girls Garage. Her story stands out because she moved from psychology and therapy into hands-on repair work, then built a career that spans Toyota-focused service, teaching and media. Here are the lesser-known details behind that path.
Who is Faye Hadley from All Girls Garage?
Hadley is a working automotive technician as well as a television personality. Her official website identifies her as an ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician, a Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician and a Supra Technical Specialist. Those are credentials stated by Hadley’s site; ASE describes itself as an independent nonprofit credentialing organization established by the automotive industry in 1972, but its general information does not independently confirm an individual’s certification record.
Agency 133’s profile also describes her as a shop owner, DIY-video creator and workshop instructor. On television, she is among the stars of All Girls Garage, a series Apple TV describes as women taking on automotive and motorcycle projects. Apple’s show listing is catalog information, so season counts and viewing availability can differ by market and date.
How did Faye Hadley become a mechanic?
Hadley’s route into automotive work began after a markedly different course of study and employment. MotorTrend’s November 27, 2020 profile reports that she graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a psychology degree and worked as a therapist before pursuing her long-standing interest in cars.

In that profile, Hadley explained the appeal of a more immediate kind of problem-solving: “I love helping people, but as a therapist you just jump into people’s lives, it was too intense for me. I want to help people; with a car, I can just jump in right away— I can change an alternator and make a check-engine light go away!”
Her first-person interview with Dovetail Workwear, published January 21, 2023, adds detail about how she learned. She describes finding an informal apprenticeship at a Volkswagen repair shop, helping around the shop and rebuilding an engine with a mentor’s guidance. “He taught me a ton of skills,” she said. Her account also describes building a tool kit with her mentor’s practical rule: if she kept borrowing a tool, it was time to buy one.

What does Faye Hadley do besides All Girls Garage?
She runs a Toyota-family repair shop
Hadley’s official site describes Pistons & PixieDust as a boutique repair shop serving Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles, with custom Supra builds. The business is in the San Antonio area and operates by appointment. The site currently says its waitlist is closed, so that status should not be taken as an indication that new appointments are available.
She teaches and makes automotive media
In her Dovetail interview, Hadley says she creates automotive DIY videos and works with Toyota on technical training videos, in addition to appearing on All Girls Garage. Agency 133 also describes her as an instructor who leads hands-on workshops for women. The mix of repair, instruction and media makes her work broader than her television role alone.

MotorTrend’s 2020 profile calls a 1989 Toyota Supra her dream car and recounts her ongoing restoration of it. Her official site’s description of her as a Supra Technical Specialist and its mention of custom Supra builds connect that personal project to her Toyota-centered work.
