Edmond “Mondi” Barseghian later acknowledged that he was driving the green McLaren Senna that crashed into the Lexus of Woodland Hills dealership on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles on April 28, 2024. Whether his subsequent Instagram statement was an apology is disputed: it expressed regret that the crash happened on a public road and said he had learned a lesson, but it did not include a clearly verified direct “I’m sorry.”
What happened to the McLaren Senna in LA?
Video circulating online showed the green Senna driving on Ventura Boulevard and performing donuts or burnouts before it struck the Lexus of Woodland Hills dealership. The crash happened on April 28, 2024, according to later reports. The available accounts describe the sequence shown in video; they do not establish an official finding about the cause of the crash.
Road & Track’s April 29 report said a Reddit user identified Barseghian as the driver. That was an initial online attribution, not an independently established identification in that report. On May 1, Carscoops and Dexerto reported that Barseghian acknowledged driving the car in an Instagram post.
Did the McLaren Senna owner apologize?
That depends on what is meant by “apologize.” Dexerto described Barseghian’s post as an apology and quoted him saying, “I own it, lesson learned.” Carscoops said he did not actually apologize for the crash or reckless behavior. The reported wording supports a careful distinction: he acknowledged responsibility and expressed upset or regret, but the available reporting does not verify a direct apology sentence such as “I’m sorry.”

Carscoops quoted him as saying, “The one thing I’m most upset about is that it happened on a public road.” It also reproduced his comment that he was glad things went wrong at 40 mph rather than at 150-plus mph on a track. Dexerto quoted a longer passage in which he invited criticism, said he owned the incident, and wrote, “lesson learned.” These are quotations as reproduced by the outlets; the original post was not independently available for verification.
The statement also reportedly joked that the building wanted a “collab,” while discussing the car and the criticism he was receiving. That mix of humor, regret, and acceptance of blame helps explain why coverage differed on whether “apology” was the right label.

Was the crashed Senna a one-of-one “Kiwi Edition”?
Not on the evidence reported. Barseghian described the car as a “Kiwi Edition,” but CarExpert reported on May 8, 2024, that it was chassis 10 of 500 McLaren Senna examples and a bespoke Project Kilo II build. The reported production number establishes that it was one of 500 examples; it does not establish an official factory “Kiwi Edition” model or that this car was one of a kind.

Carscoops reported that in May 2024 the damaged Senna appeared at a North Hollywood Insurance Auto Auctions lot, listed as “not ready for sale,” with major front-end damage and deployed airbags. That is a dated report, not confirmation of where the car is now or whether it was repaired, sold, or salvaged.
