In 2024, Formula 1 teams had several named watch-brand partners, but that does not tell us which watch every driver wore. A contemporaneous season preview linked Red Bull with TAG Heuer, Mercedes with IWC Schaffhausen, Ferrari and McLaren with Richard Mille, Aston Martin with Girard-Perregaux, Alpine with H. Moser & Cie, and Racing Bulls with Tudor. It also identified Rolex—not TAG Heuer—as the championship’s Official Timekeeper for that season.
Which watch brands were associated with F1 teams in 2024?
Time+Tide’s 24 February 2024 season preview grouped team watch relationships using the previous year’s constructors’ standings. Its list is a contemporaneous overview, not an official, exhaustive sponsorship register.
| 2024 team | Watch-brand association reported |
|---|---|
| Red Bull | TAG Heuer |
| Mercedes | IWC Schaffhausen |
| Ferrari | Richard Mille |
| McLaren | Richard Mille |
| Aston Martin | Girard-Perregaux |
| Alpine | H. Moser & Cie |
| Racing Bulls | Tudor |
| Williams | No current timing sponsor identified in the preview |
| Sauber | The preview says it had lost its watch partner |
| Haas | No watch sponsor identified in the preview |
These labels describe reported team relationships; they do not establish that a particular driver wore a partner’s watch during a race. Fratello’s separate 2024 overview corroborates several major pairings, including TAG Heuer with Red Bull, IWC with Mercedes, and Richard Mille with Ferrari and McLaren, while also distinguishing those arrangements from Rolex’s championship timekeeper role.
Which specific watches were seen or linked to teams?
Tudor Black Bay Ceramic
Time+Tide reported that team photographs showed Daniel Ricciardo wearing a matte blue-dial Tudor Black Bay Ceramic. This is a reported photographic sighting, not evidence of what he wore throughout the season or of every Racing Bulls driver’s watch.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato and Aston Martin
The same preview mentioned a green ceramic Girard-Perregaux Laureato associated with Aston Martin. It is an example of a watch connected with the partnership, not a per-driver wear record.
IWC and Mercedes
Time+Tide pointed to IWC’s Big Pilot and Pilot’s Watch lines as partnership-related examples, and recalled earlier Mercedes/IWC collaborations including a Petronas F1 Team edition and a G-Wagen Big Pilot. IWC’s own July 2024 announcement says the partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS began in 2013: IWC became the team’s Official Engineering Partner, and Lewis Hamilton joined as a brand ambassador. That announcement also covers IWC’s sponsorship of a fictional team in a film; the fictional APX GP was not a real 2024 championship entrant.

Who was Formula 1’s Official Timekeeper in 2024?
Rolex held the championship-level Official Timekeeper role during the 2024 season, according to the season coverage from Fratello. That role is separate from individual teams’ watch-brand partnerships. Formula 1’s current partner page says TAG Heuer reclaimed the Official Timekeeper role beginning with the 2025 season, so that later change should not be applied retroactively to 2024.
The season framing and opening-round roster can be checked against the FIA’s official 2024 Australian Grand Prix press kit, which includes the calendar and entry list. The partnerships above are those reported in the cited season overviews, not a complete official register.

What does “what watch is this driver wearing?” establish?
A team partnership, a watch-brand ambassador relationship, and a watch visible in a photograph are different kinds of evidence. The 2024 coverage supports a team-level map and a few specific examples, including Ricciardo’s reported Tudor sighting; it does not verify a complete watch-by-driver catalog or a driver’s personal collection.
For readers following the brand connection into the present, Formula 1’s partner page identifies TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 collection. That is a collection reference, not evidence that the drivers discussed here wore a TAG Heuer Formula 1 model in 2024.
