There is no defensible, fully ranked “10 biggest” list in the available specifications: battery figures mix markets, trims and capacity conventions. The strongest documented large-pack examples here are the Lucid Gravity and Mercedes-Benz EQS, with published figures from 118 to 123 kWh depending on the specific record. These are examples, not a verified worldwide top ten.
What battery capacity means
Battery capacity is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh), a measure of stored energy. It is different from charging power, measured in kilowatts (kW), and from efficiency, commonly shown as energy used per distance or miles per kWh. A larger capacity alone does not establish longer range: vehicle efficiency and the capacity convention used in a specification also matter.
Comparisons need to identify the vehicle’s market, model year and trim, and whether the figure represents gross pack capacity or usable energy. The records below do not all use a stated, harmonized convention, so they should not be treated as a single ranked list.

The different EQS records illustrate why model name alone is not enough to compare capacity: one is a European database entry for the 450+, while the other is a US manufacturer specification for the 2026 450 4MATIC Sedan. Likewise, Lucid’s 123 kWh announcement and EAFO’s 123.0 kWh Gravity Grand Touring entry come from different records and should retain their source labels.

Why these figures do not establish the ten largest
A valid top-ten ranking needs one defined comparison set—for example, US model-year vehicles—and a consistent capacity field applied to every vehicle. Mixing a manufacturer announcement, a European database record and a US trim page cannot establish a global order, especially when the records do not consistently state gross versus usable capacity. The examples above therefore identify documented large packs but do not claim to be the ten largest electric-car batteries.
For a US-only model-year comparison, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center publishes annual vehicle data with battery-capacity fields. A ranking based on that resource would still need to select a single model year and apply its field consistently across the vehicles included. AFDC vehicle data downloads

How to read a battery-size comparison
- Check the exact trim and year. Specifications can differ within a model family.
- Check the market. A US specification and a European database entry may refer to different versions or records.
- Check the capacity convention. Gross pack capacity and usable energy are not interchangeable; if the source does not specify which it reports, treat that as unknown.
- Keep range and efficiency separate. A higher kWh figure says how much energy is listed for the battery, not how far the car travels on it.
