What was announced—and when?
On November 5, 2024, KYMCO announced an expanded partnership with LiveWire to develop LiveWire’s first electric maxi-scooter. The companies said it would use LiveWire’s S2 powertrain and targeted a release in the first half of 2026. KYMCO identified Europe as the primary intended market and said distribution was intended to be global. Read the KYMCO announcement.
Those details describe the companies’ plans at the time of the announcement, not proof that the product subsequently reached production or went on sale. The reviewed LiveWire homepage and S2 product page, current as reviewed October 4, 2026, do not confirm the scooter’s launch, final name, specifications, or sales status. Their omission does not prove the project was canceled.
Is it a Harley-Davidson scooter?
Not according to the project announcement’s product framing: it calls the planned scooter LiveWire’s first electric maxi-scooter. The announcement notes that LiveWire is majority-owned by Harley-Davidson, but it does not say the scooter will carry a Harley-Davidson badge. The Harley-Davidson wording in the 2024 New Atlas headline should not be read as a confirmed brand or model designation. New Atlas’s November 12, 2024, article also used “pastel” to describe concept imagery; that is not an official production-color specification.

What performance and price are confirmed?
The official announcement provides no scooter-specific output, torque, range, top speed, acceleration, charging time, or retail price. It identifies the S2 powertrain as the basis for the project, but that does not establish the scooter’s final specifications.
LiveWire’s S2 page describes S2 Arrow as an architecture with an integrated structural battery pack, motor, and controller, and lists the Alpinista, Mulholland, and Del Mar motorcycles. Specifications or charging details for those motorcycles cannot be treated as confirmed scooter figures or compatibility information. New Atlas discusses existing S2 platform numbers and estimates scooter range by comparison; those are context and estimates, not published scooter specifications or test results.

What should prospective buyers watch for?
Until LiveWire or KYMCO publishes a current product announcement, buyers cannot rely on a confirmed release date, price, market availability, or final equipment list. If the scooter is announced for sale, useful details to verify include its market-specific price, tested range and test cycle, charging connector and time, power rating, top speed, carrying capacity, warranty, and service support. The S2 motorcycles’ Level 2 charging information alone does not establish what charger the scooter will use.
