F1 The Movie is already streaming on Apple TV. Its global subscription-streaming debut was December 12, 2025, so the old “likely release timeline” is no longer a prediction. The Brad Pitt racing film first reached theaters in June 2025, then moved to paid digital viewing before arriving in Apple’s subscription catalog.
F1 The Movie release timeline
There are several dates associated with the film, and confusing them is what led to many outdated streaming reports. The theatrical, digital purchase, and subscription-streaming releases were separate events.

How to watch F1 The Movie on Apple TV now
You do not need an Apple TV 4K box. Apple TV is also an app and a web service, and the film can be watched on compatible televisions, streaming devices, game consoles, computers, phones, and tablets.
Apple TV 4K steps
- Open the Apple TV app.
- Open the sidebar and choose Search.
- Enter F1 The Movie, rather than searching only for “F1.”
- Open the film’s title page.
- Select the available play or subscription option.
On a smart TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation, Xbox, Android device, Windows device, or supported browser, open the Apple TV app or visit tv.apple.com. Use Search and enter the full title.

How much does it cost?
The U.S. Apple TV listing currently shows “7 days free, then $12.99/month” for eligible new subscribers. Apple’s free trial may not be offered if you have already used a qualifying Apple TV trial, and pricing or trial terms can vary by country.
A subscription is different from a digital rental or purchase. If you rent or buy F1 The Movie through a digital storefront, that transaction is separate from the Apple TV subscription catalog. Apple also notes that an Apple TV subscription does not automatically include titles marked for rental or purchase.
What the older release reports got wrong
- “F1 The Movie is coming to Apple TV.” That is outdated. The subscription-streaming date was December 12, 2025.
- “The August 22 release was streaming.” August 22 was the paid digital rental and purchase release. Subscription streaming followed on December 12.
- “You need Apple hardware.” You do not need an Apple TV box. The Apple TV app works on many non-Apple devices, and Apple also offers browser access.
- “Apple TV+ is the current name.” Apple’s October 2025 announcement said Apple TV+ had been renamed simply Apple TV. Older articles may still use the former name.
- “The subscription includes every way to watch the movie.” Not necessarily. Availability can vary by country, region, device, and title. Rentals and purchases remain separate options.
What to do if the movie is not showing
No Play button
A missing Play button does not necessarily mean the movie has been removed. Apple says it can indicate that a subscription, rental, or purchase is required. Check the title page for the specific option offered in your location.

You cannot subscribe or buy on the TV
Some Apple TV app versions do not support transactions directly on the television device. Complete the subscription, rental, or purchase on another device using the same Apple Account, then return to the Apple TV app on the television.
The search returns racing coverage instead
Search for F1 The Movie in full. Searching for only “F1” can return Formula 1 race coverage or other unrelated content.
The title is missing entirely
Apple’s catalog and app features vary by country and region, and not every feature works on every supported device. Confirm that the Apple TV app is updated, check that you are signed in to the intended Apple Account, and try the title page through tv.apple.com. If it appears on the web but not on the television, the problem may be device support or app availability rather than the film’s release status.

Is F1 The Movie worth watching for car fans?
The movie was built around the spectacle of professional single-seater racing, with real track environments and a production designed to make the cockpit feel physical rather than purely computer-generated. It is a fictional drama, not a documentary about the Formula 1 championship, so viewers should expect a Hollywood story alongside the racing action.
For car enthusiasts, the most useful distinction is between the film’s release formats: the June theatrical run was the original big-screen experience, the August digital release allowed individual rentals or purchases, and the December arrival is the subscription option. If you simply want to watch it at home now, Apple TV is the relevant choice.
