Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf maximum range is your top EV-buying priority, the 2025 Lucid Air is in a class of its own. Its highest-rated configuration can travel an EPA-estimated 512 miles on a full charge—92 miles farther than the next vehicle on this list.
This ranking covers 2025 model-year vehicles sold in the U.S. and compares each nameplate’s best EPA-estimated combined range. Each model appears only once. The exact number depends on the trim, battery, motor layout, wheel size, tires and other equipment, so the longest-range version is not always the quickest, cheapest or most practical one.
The 10 longest-range EVs for 2025
| Rank | EV | Highest-range configuration | EPA range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lucid Air | Grand Touring, 19-inch wheels | 512 miles |
| 2 | Rivian R1T | Dual-Motor Performance Max | 420 miles |
| 3 | Tesla Model S | Dual Motor, 19-inch wheels | 410 miles |
| 4 | Rivian R1S | Dual-Motor Max | 410 miles |
| 5 | Chevrolet Silverado EV | Longest-range 2025 configuration | 408 miles |
| 6 | GMC Sierra EV | Longest-range 2025 configuration | 390 miles |
| 7 | Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan | Highest-range 2025 configuration | 390 miles |
| 8 | Tesla Model 3 | Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive | 363 miles |
| 9 | Polestar 3 | Single-Motor Rear-Wheel Drive | 350 miles |
| 10 | Hyundai Ioniq 6 | SE Rear-Wheel Drive, 18-inch wheels | 342 miles |
These are EPA estimates, not guarantees. Cold weather, high speeds, hills, strong headwinds, a full passenger load and frequent use of the heater or air conditioner can all reduce the distance available between charges.
1. Lucid Air: 512 miles
The 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring is the clear range champion. With its 19-inch wheels, it is EPA-rated for 512 miles, giving it a 92-mile advantage over the second-place Rivian R1T.

That rating applies to one very specific version. Larger wheels reduce the official range, and the Grand Touring is a high-end sedan rather than an inexpensive commuter. Buyers who want a less costly Air can also look at the Air Pure, which reaches as much as 420 miles in its longest-range configuration.
2. Rivian R1T: 420 miles
The 2025 Rivian R1T is the longest-range electric pickup truck on this list, with an EPA-estimated 420 miles. That figure comes from the dual-motor Performance model with Rivian’s Max battery pack and the appropriate wheel-and-tire setup.
The R1T lineup has several motor, battery and tire combinations. An R1T with a smaller battery, different wheels or a more off-road-focused configuration will not match the 420-mile number. The Max pack is the key to the truck’s long-distance rating, while the Performance setup adds power rather than maximizing efficiency.
3. Tesla Model S: 410 miles
The 2025 Tesla Model S Dual Motor reaches 410 miles with 19-inch wheels. It combines a large liftback body with strong acceleration and access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, although the highest-range version is not the same as the more performance-oriented Model S Plaid.

4. Rivian R1S: 410 miles
The three-row Rivian R1S can travel up to 410 miles with its dual-motor Max-battery configuration. It shares much of its electric hardware with the R1T, but its SUV body and passenger-focused design result in a slightly lower maximum rating than the truck’s 420 miles.
The R1S is one of the few long-range EVs here that offers three rows of seating and meaningful utility. As with the R1T, choosing a smaller battery, larger wheels or a different tire package can cut the range substantially.
5. Chevrolet Silverado EV: 408 miles
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV is EPA-rated for up to 408 miles in its longest-range configuration. It is one of the most significant entries on the list because that range comes in a full-size pickup rather than a low-slung sedan.
Silverado EV range varies by trim, battery specification and equipment. The maximum number should therefore be treated as a configuration-specific benchmark, not a rating that applies to every Silverado EV on a dealer lot. Towing, heavy cargo and off-road tires can also have a major effect on real-world driving distance.
6. GMC Sierra EV: 390 miles
The 2025 GMC Sierra EV reaches 390 miles in its longest-range configuration. It uses GM’s Ultium electric-vehicle architecture, shared with the Silverado EV, but GMC positions the Sierra as the more upscale alternative.

Designed to ensure safe, stable, and long-term charging performance in demanding environments
The 18-mile difference between the Sierra EV’s top rating and the Silverado EV’s is small on paper, but both figures depend on the specific trim and equipment. Buyers should compare the window sticker for the exact truck rather than rely only on the model name.
7. Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan: 390 miles
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan is rated for up to 390 miles. Mercedes made battery-management and energy-recovery changes for 2025, but the car’s range remains dependent on the selected configuration.
The EQS is a luxury sedan built around quiet cruising and a comfortable cabin. Its EPA figure places it well behind the Lucid Air but still comfortably ahead of most electric cars. Do not confuse this rating with higher numbers sometimes quoted for other EQS model years, body styles or testing standards.
8. Tesla Model 3: 363 miles
The 2025 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive is EPA-rated at 363 miles. It is the least expensive vehicle in this top 10 and one of the most efficient ways to get a claimed range above 350 miles.
The Long Range All-Wheel Drive and Performance versions have lower maximum ratings. That is a useful reminder that adding a second motor, larger wheels or more performance equipment can reduce range even when the battery is otherwise similar.

- J1772 Compatible + Dual-Level Charging: Works with all J1772 EVs (Tesla requires a separate J1772 adapter). Level 2: built-in NEMA 6-20 plug. Level 1: included NEMA 5-15 adapter fits any standard outlet. Please confirm your outlet is NEMA 6-20 or 5-15 before purchase
9. Polestar 3: 350 miles
The 2025 Polestar 3 reaches 350 miles in its single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive configuration. The dual-motor versions trade some of that range for additional traction and acceleration.
Recommended Free Tools
For buyers who do not need all-wheel drive, the single-motor model is the range-focused choice. The Polestar 3 is a premium electric SUV, so its appeal also rests on design, cabin technology and driving character—not just its EPA number.
10. Hyundai Ioniq 6: 342 miles
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 SE Rear-Wheel Drive with 18-inch wheels rounds out the list at 342 miles. Its aerodynamic sedan shape helps it achieve a strong range rating without the battery size or price of the largest luxury EVs and electric trucks.
The larger-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions have lower official ratings. If you want the Ioniq 6’s maximum range, the SE rear-drive model on 18-inch wheels is the configuration to look for.

- Battery size: A larger battery generally provides more range, but also adds weight.
- Drive system: Rear-wheel-drive versions are often more efficient than all-wheel-drive versions because they use fewer motors.
- Wheels and tires: Larger wheels and wider or more aggressive tires typically increase rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag.
- Powertrain tuning: Performance variants prioritize acceleration over energy efficiency.
- Body and payload: Trucks, SUVs, passengers and cargo require more energy than a lightly loaded sedan.
Before comparing two vehicles, check the exact trim, drivetrain, battery and wheel size. A lower-priced version of the same model may have a meaningfully different EPA rating.
2025 model year is not the same as the 2025 calendar year
This ranking uses 2025 model-year vehicles, not every EV available for purchase during the 2025 calendar year. Those categories can produce different results.
For example, some lists include the Lucid Gravity with a claimed 450-mile range. In the source data used for this ranking, that is identified as a 2026 model, so it does not replace one of the 2025-model-year entries above.
Claims about 2025 EV range that need clarification
- Lucid Air gets 516 miles: The 516-mile figure is associated with an earlier Air Grand Touring rating. The 2025 model-year maximum used here is 512 miles.
- Mercedes EQS gets 511 miles: That number appears to combine different model years, body styles, markets or testing cycles. The 2025 U.S. EPA-based rating in this comparison is 390 miles.
- BMW iX3, Mercedes CLA and Audi A6 e-tron belong here: Figures for those vehicles refer to newer vehicles or non-U.S./non-2025-model-year data, so they do not fit this narrowly defined list.
- EPA range is a promised distance: It is a standardized estimate. It cannot account for every driver, route or weather condition.
FAQ
What is the longest-range EV for the 2025 model year?
The 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring is the longest-range EV in this comparison, with an EPA-estimated 512 miles when equipped with 19-inch wheels.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Which 2025 electric truck has the most range?
The 2025 Rivian R1T has the highest rating among the trucks listed here: 420 miles with its dual-motor Performance powertrain, Max battery and appropriate wheel-and-tire configuration.
Does every version of an EV get its advertised maximum range?
No. EPA range can change with battery size, motor layout, trim, wheel diameter and tires. For example, the Tesla Model 3’s 363-mile rating applies to the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version, not every Model 3.
How close will real-world range be to the EPA estimate?
It depends on conditions. Cold temperatures, high speeds, hills, wind, climate-control use, payload and driving style can all reduce range. Use the EPA number as a consistent comparison point, not a guarantee for a specific trip.
The Bottom Line
The 2025 Lucid Air leads this EPA-based ranking by a wide margin at 512 miles. The Rivian R1T, Tesla Model S and Rivian R1S follow at 420, 410 and 410 miles, while the Chevrolet Silverado EV brings more than 400 miles to the full-size pickup segment. For shoppers, the most important detail is the configuration: choosing all-wheel drive, larger wheels, performance hardware or a smaller battery can lower the rating substantially.
