My favorite current Alfa Romeo is the Giulia: it puts the brand’s sporting character into a practical, distinctive sedan. But the right answer depends on what makes your heart sing—heritage, performance, everyday usefulness, or a particular body style or powertrain. For a dramatic performance-led pick, I’d choose the 33 Stradale.
My favorite is the Giulia—but the 33 Stradale is the dream pick
The Giulia is my choice for an Alfa Romeo someone can appreciate as a real-world car, not only as a poster or collector’s object. It is a sedan in a lineup that also includes an SUV, a compact crossover and a limited special-series sports car. That variety means “favorite” can reasonably mean the car you would drive every day—or the one that best captures the marque’s imagination.
If the question is which current Alfa Romeo makes the biggest performance statement, the 33 Stradale has the strongest claim. Alfa Romeo lists a 620 HP 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, a 333 km/h top speed and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. Those are the manufacturer’s specifications, not independent test results. Its special-series status makes it a halo-car answer rather than the everyday choice most shoppers will be comparing.
Which current Alfa Romeo fits your idea of a favorite?
Alfa Romeo’s global lineup presentation includes the Junior, Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio, as well as the 33 Stradale special series. Stellantis’ brand profile lists the same five names. The choice is easier if you start with what you want the car to do:

| Model | Why it might be your favorite | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Junior | The compact crossover choice if you want a smaller-bodied entry in the current lineup. | Powertrain, equipment and availability in your market; global presentations do not guarantee local sale. |
| Tonale | A crossover option with official powertrain and equipment comparisons for shoppers to weigh. | Compare the versions offered locally. Alfa Romeo’s Tonale page presents powertrain and equipment information. |
| Giulia | My pick for a driver drawn to a sporting sedan rather than an SUV or crossover. | Local trims, powertrains and availability. |
| Stelvio | The SUV choice in the current range for someone who wants that body style. | Local trims, powertrains and availability. |
| 33 Stradale | The exclusive, performance-led halo-car answer. | Its limited special-series nature and manufacturer-stated figures make it a different proposition from the other current models. |
These are broad lineup descriptions, not a substitute for a local configurator or dealer: specifications and availability vary by market, and model details can change. The Alfa Romeo global site presents the current range and brand experiences, while the company’s Stellantis brand profile provides its official brand overview.
How to choose your own favorite
- Start with the shape. Decide whether you want a sedan, SUV, crossover or an exceptional special-series sports car. Body style will narrow the choices faster than a brand-wide “best” label.
- Think about use, not just image. If this is a car you might actually own, consider how it fits daily driving and the needs of your household alongside its performance appeal.
- Compare the exact versions sold near you. Powertrains, equipment and availability vary geographically. The Tonale page, for example, includes comparisons, but the local offering is what matters for a buying decision.
- Separate aspiration from practicality. It is reasonable to call the 33 Stradale your favorite even if your practical shortlist is a different model. A dream car and a sensible personal pick need not be the same answer.
What current popularity can—and cannot—tell you
In a press release dated 14 July 2026, Stellantis said Alfa Romeo’s models were available in 70 countries and reported the Junior as its best-selling model, followed by the Tonale, Stelvio and Giulia. That is the company’s reported ranking, not an independently audited sales comparison. It offers a snapshot of reported model order, not proof that one car is best for every driver.

There is no independent comparative reliability, owner-satisfaction or sales dataset in the cited official material that establishes a universally best Alfa Romeo. Treat “favorite” as a matter of priorities rather than a verdict that statistics have settled.

A favorite does not have to be only a model. Alfa Romeo’s global site also promotes its Driving Academy, heritage services, museum, accessories and merchandise. Those can matter to someone whose connection to the brand extends beyond choosing a car, but access and terms depend on location and current program availability.
