All share the TrailSport-focused equipment; Elite adds cabin comfort and convenience, while Blackout is an appearance treatment rather than a separate mechanical capability level. This is a 2027 comparison, not a description of the 2026 Passport.
How the four TrailSport trims fit together
The simplest way to choose is to decide whether you want the core TrailSport equipment, the Elite comfort upgrades, or darker exterior styling. Honda lists six Passport trims overall for 2027; the four below make up the TrailSport family.

What TrailSport adds for trail use
Honda’s trim guide positions TrailSport as the capability step above RTL. Its listed additions include off-road-tuned suspension, underbody skid plates, front and rear recovery hooks, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a heated wiper zone, TrailWatch camera views, and an integrated Class III trailer hitch. Honda’s 2027 materials also list TrailWatch and a heated steering wheel as standard across the TrailSport family. See Honda’s 2027 Passport specifications for the model-year-specific equipment table.
These features address protection, traction, visibility, and recovery, but they do not make the Passport a different powertrain configuration: Honda lists the same V6 output across the trims. The 2027 specifications give 280 hp at 6,100 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm.

What TrailSport Elite adds inside
Elite builds on TrailSport with features aimed at passenger comfort and everyday convenience. Honda’s trim guide lists leather-trimmed seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, tri-zone climate control with second-row controls, rain-sensing wipers, puddle lights, a hands-free power liftgate, and integrated second-row sunshades.
Choose Elite if those cabin upgrades matter more to you than keeping to the lower TrailSport equipment level. Both Elite trims retain the TrailSport equipment; Elite is not a substitute for it.

What Blackout changes—and what it doesn’t
Blackout is a styling variant of its corresponding TrailSport trim. Honda describes the 2027 Blackout treatment as including more aggressive styling and black lower skid garnishes. It does not represent another step in mechanical off-road capability. For exact wheel, badge, and garnish details, check Honda’s 2027 specifications or the window sticker for the vehicle you are considering rather than relying on an older model-year description.
2027 pricing: one verified figure
Honda’s September 29, 2026 pricing release lists the TrailSport Elite Blackout at $55,195 MSRP and $56,790 including destination. The available price information here does not establish the other three TrailSport-family prices, so they are not estimated from 2026 figures. The destination-inclusive amount is not the final out-the-door cost: taxes, registration, dealer charges, and installed accessories can change what you pay. How to verify a specific Passport before buying
Equipment and appearance details can vary by model year and package. Before agreeing to a purchase, compare the exact vehicle’s VIN-specific window sticker with the 2027 feature table, and check the destination charge and any dealer-installed accessories. Honda’s 2026 accessory brochure lists items such as a roof platform, full-size spare tire kit, floor mats, cargo tray, splash guards, roof attachments, and rock sliders; it is not proof that an accessory fits a 2027 Passport.
The brochure gives its roof platform a capacity of up to 165 lb. That figure applies to the accessory, not the Passport’s general roof-load rating; follow the owner’s manual and the platform’s installation instructions, and confirm 2027 compatibility before buying.
