JLR has not officially confirmed the next Range Rover Velar’s design, cabin layout, platform or launch timing. The available glimpse of its interior comes from Autoblog’s interpretation of alleged 2027 Velar EV spy imagery: the outlet reports separate displays for the driver and infotainment. That is a reported detail, not a JLR specification, and the evidence does not establish what the exterior looks like.
What is actually known about the next Velar?
As of October 8, 2026, JLR’s official U.S. Velar page presents the 2026 model, not a confirmed next-generation vehicle. Its materials describe the current Velar’s floating roofline and a cabin focused on light, space and tactility. They do not confirm that those features will carry over to a successor. The “strange inside as out” characterization is an editorial reaction, not a settled description of a revealed production design. The available material does not establish the future vehicle’s exterior details, so claims about specific body features would go beyond what has been confirmed.
What the spy-image report says about the cabin
Autoblog’s report on alleged 2027 Velar EV spy imagery describes separate driver and infotainment displays. That suggests a different screen arrangement from simply placing both functions on one display, but the report does not establish how the screens work or how the rest of the cabin is laid out. The imagery, as described in the report, does not settle whether physical controls remain, how easy the displays are to reach, or whether the layout improves visibility and ergonomics. Those judgments require inspectable images or an official reveal; the display separation alone is not enough to evaluate the cabin.
Why the Range Rover GT announcement does not confirm the Velar
In July 2026, JLR announced the Range Rover GT as the fifth member of the Range Rover family and identified it as the first all-electric Range Rover on the EMA platform. In that 2023 context, Amy Frascella, then Materiality Director at Jaguar Land Rover, said: “Range Rover Velar is the pioneer of our reductive design philosophy as well as our leader in our Materiality strategy.” The statement describes the Velar at that time, not the reported future vehicle.
