The GR8TOPS JPOD (“Personalized Overlanding Den”) is a camper pod designed to mount on the company’s JTRUK Jeep truck conversion. It is not a bolt-on camper for an unmodified Wrangler: the conversion involves substantial bodywork, the pod is supplied bare, and its small cab window is not a passage for people traveling in the pod.
What is the GR8TOPS JPOD?
GR8TOPS describes the JPOD as a pod for its JTRUK conversions of Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds. The company’s information page says it did not yet have a full JPOD product page and was sharing preliminary information to answer questions and collect input. The JPOD should therefore be understood as part of a specialized vehicle conversion, not as a stand-alone camper that simply attaches to a stock Wrangler.

What modifications does the JTRUK conversion involve?
GR8TOPS says the Jeep frame is not cut, but the rear half of the body is removed and the body is cut for the truck conversion. “No frame cutting” does not mean an unmodified vehicle: the bodywork is extensive, and returning the Jeep to its original form should not be assumed to be straightforward.
GR8TOPS’s JKUte pickup-conversion manual illustrates the scale of work involved in that conversion, including removing vehicle components, modifying the B-pillar and roll bar, fitting body panels and fiberglass cab or bulkhead pieces, building a bed floor, welding, and sealing seams. It is a manual for the JKUte pickup conversion—not a JPOD installation manual—and its steps should not be treated as instructions for every JTRUK generation or JPOD build.

Can you move between the cab and pod?
The JPOD has a small window to the cab, not a full climb-through opening. GR8TOPS says the compartment is not designed to carry passengers while the Jeep is in transit. The company describes the window as useful for pet access, airflow from the cab while parked, and visibility from the pod while camping. It should not be treated as a safe in-motion passage or evidence of a passenger-rated compartment.
What comes inside, and how much does the pod weigh?
GR8TOPS lists the bare pod at 500 lb, excluding the interior and cabinets. That is not the weight of a finished camper: interior materials, storage, and equipment add weight, and the company’s reviewed information does not give a completed-build figure.

The manufacturer says owners can customize the interior and describes its initial approach as a DIY, owner-built fitout. Its information does not establish a standard floorplan or included furniture, cabinets, water or electrical systems, or a particular mattress fit. Treat those as design and purchasing questions for your own build rather than included features.

The reviewed GR8TOPS information does not establish a current JPOD price, total installed JTRUK-plus-JPOD cost, order availability, production capacity, or lead time. The company’s January 24, 2026 update linked to reviewer coverage and its information page; that confirms public product information was being shared at that time, not current ordering terms.

Ask GR8TOPS for a written quote tied to your exact Jeep and intended configuration. Before choosing a donor vehicle or planning an interior, get clarity on:
- Whether your specific year, trim, and vehicle condition are accepted.
- What conversion and pod work is included in the quote, and what must be supplied or completed separately.
- The current price, order status, and estimated build schedule.
- The pod’s dimensions and the finished vehicle’s weight and payload implications for your planned fitout.
- How you intend to use the cab window and what sleeping, storage, and utility systems your DIY interior needs.
These details matter because the available manufacturer information describes a bare pod and a conversion path, not a fully specified, ready-to-camp package.
