What does the Tesla Roadster acceleration video show?
BGR published its story on November 17, 2017, the day after Tesla unveiled the next-generation Roadster. The article embeds an Instagram post showing a ride in the announced car and identifies Tesla designer Franz von Holzhausen in the footage. How fast did Tesla say the Roadster would accelerate?
Tesla’s reported 2017 announcement target was 0–60 mph in 1.9 seconds. BGR also reported Tesla’s announced figures of 600 miles of range, a top speed above 250 mph, and a $200,000 starting price. TechCrunch reported on September 28, 2026, that Tesla had delayed the next-generation Roadster reveal again because of forecast severe weather.
