Ducati claims 120 hp in road configuration, or 126 hp with a racing exhaust. It replaces the outgoing Panigale V2’s 955 cc Superquadro; the figures here are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
What engine is in the new Panigale V2?
Ducati announced the new Panigale V2 on November 5, 2024, alongside the Streetfighter V2. The company described both as the first motorcycles in its range built around its new Ducati V2 engine. Rather than adapting the previous engine with less displacement, Ducati says it designed the new models around this powerplant. Ducati’s announcement identifies it as an 890 cc, 90-degree V-twin with four valves per cylinder and variable timing for the intake valves.
Ducati describes the engine as Euro 5+ homologated. That emissions classification is a manufacturer specification; it does not, by itself, establish availability or certification details in every market. Ducati Australia’s announcement also details the engine’s power modes.
How much power does Ducati claim?
Ducati lists 120 hp for the road configuration. With a racing exhaust, the company claims maximum power rises to 126 hp and weight falls by 10 lb. These are Ducati’s published figures; the cited announcements do not provide independent dyno measurements or a controlled comparison with the previous bike.

- PANIGALE V2
The engine has three power modes—High, Medium, and Low. Ducati rates Low mode at 95 hp. Its announcement also says 70% of maximum torque is available at 3,000 rpm, but does not give a peak torque figure. That percentage describes torque delivery at a particular engine speed, not the engine’s peak torque value.
How does it compare with the outgoing Superquadro?
The replacement is not still powered by the Superquadro. The outgoing Panigale V2, including the Superquadro Final Edition, used a 955 cc Superquadro engine. Ducati lists that engine’s bore and stroke as 100 mm by 60.8 mm on its Superquadro Final Edition page.
