Canada Off-Road Center’s June 22, 2022 listing identifies the MTT-154 with Quebec inventor Yvon Martel. The retailer says “MTT” stands for “My Track Technology” and that “154” refers to the snowmobile tread width in inches. The listing describes a rechargeable-battery-powered tracked machine, likening it to a cross between a snowmobile and a sled dog. Its tracks are intended to move it across terrain where a wheeled utility vehicle may not be the right tool. The “locomotive” label is descriptive, not a claim that it runs on rails.
What can it do?
The retailer says the MTT-154 can pull logs, trailers and sleds in snow, plow dirt and snow, and help pull a stuck car. It also presents the vehicle for recreational riding as well as utility work. How does the MTT-154 differ from the MTT-136?
The MTT-136 is a separately described earlier model, not another name for the MTT-154. A 2020 article says the MTT-136’s number refers to a 136-inch snowmobile tread. It describes that model as a motorized track with handlebars and discusses hauling gear and firewood, carrying first-aid equipment, and possible generator or integrated power-supply uses. That 2020 article reproduces Martel’s statement, “My Track Technology can provide units with an autonomous power supply or integrated generator,” and describes intended applications including leisure, first aid, tourism and agriculture.
