Koenigsegg also recorded a 457.94 km/h (284.55 mph) peak in one direction during the event, but that is not the same measure as the two-way average. The Jesko Absolut is Koenigsegg’s speed-focused design; its cited model page does not report a completed top-speed run.
Fastest Koenigsegg models: what the published figures show
These figures cannot support a strict ranking of every Koenigsegg model: they mix a two-way average, a one-way road peak, a manufacturer-listed maximum and a track result. The table separates those categories rather than treating them as equivalent.
| Model | Published speed evidence | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Agera RS | 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph) average; 457.94 km/h (284.55 mph) peak | Koenigsegg reports the average across two runs in opposite directions, and separately reports the highest single-direction speed on a public road, in 2017. The average is the more appropriate figure for comparison with a two-way record. Koenigsegg’s Agera RS record account |
| CCX | 400+ km/h (250+ mph); 196 mph | The 400+ km/h figure is the manufacturer-listed maximum without the rear wing. The 196 mph figure is a separate Top Gear test-track result from 2006. Neither is directly equivalent to the Agera RS two-way average. Koenigsegg’s CCX page |
| Jesko Absolut | No completed top-speed result stated on the cited model page | Koenigsegg presents it as a top-speed-focused design, but does not give a measured run there; the page says, “How fast? Time will tell.” Koenigsegg’s Jesko Absolut page |
Why the Agera RS holds the strongest measured result here
On November 4, 2017, an Agera RS made two runs in opposite directions on a public road in Nevada. Koenigsegg reports an average of 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph) across those runs. Using opposite directions helps account for conditions such as wind that can affect a one-way pass, which is why the average and the peak should be identified separately.
The 457.94 km/h (284.55 mph) figure is the event’s highest single-direction public-road speed, not the two-run average. It is a remarkable peak, but using it as if it were the Agera RS’s two-way result would blur an important distinction in how top-speed records are reported.

Where the Jesko Absolut fits
The Jesko Absolut is the Koenigsegg model designed specifically with top speed in mind, and the company says it will be the fastest Koenigsegg it will ever make. That describes the manufacturer’s intent, not a verified speed result. Its official model page supplies no completed top-speed run and leaves the question open: “How fast? Time will tell.”
The page lists a drag coefficient of 0.278 and frontal area of 1.88 m². Those are design specifications, not proof of a particular achieved speed. Koenigsegg founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg described the car in March 2020 as a “land-based rocket-ship determined to reach unheard-of speed in record-setting pace”; that promotional description likewise is not a measured result. How to read the CCX figures
Koenigsegg lists the CCX at “400+ km/h (250+ mph)” without the rear wing. The condition matters: it is a manufacturer-listed maximum tied to a specified configuration, not a two-way record run. Separately, the manufacturer reports a 196 mph result on the Top Gear test track in 2006. A track speed and a top-speed specification answer different questions, so neither should be presented as a direct head-to-head comparison with the Agera RS average.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What counts as a fair top-speed ranking?
A useful comparison needs to identify what was measured and under what conditions. Before treating two numbers as a ranking, check whether each is a measured run or a claimed or projected maximum, an average in both directions or a one-way peak, a road result or a track result, and whether the vehicle’s configuration or other stated conditions affect the figure.

- Brand new box, Limited edition.
- True-to-scale detail. Detailed interior, exterior.
- Real rubber tires
- Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. Dimensions
- Officially licensed product.
With those distinctions in view, the Agera RS has the strongest verified top-speed result documented here. The Jesko Absolut is Koenigsegg’s speed-focused model, but the cited official material does not establish an achieved maximum. The available figures do not justify ordering every Koenigsegg model into a definitive numerical ranking.
