Nishat Power describes NexGen as a Pakistan-incorporated private automobile company involved in the assembly and distribution of new-energy vehicles, passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and vans. The filing establishes the company’s stated business scope; it does not, by itself, confirm which models are currently being assembled, delivered or sold in Pakistan.
How is NexGen connected to Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo?
A 2025 shareholder disclosure identified Chery Automobile as NexGen’s partner for the importation, local production and nationwide distribution of Chery’s Omoda and Jaecoo sub-brands in Pakistan. This describes the partnership plan disclosed at that time. How much profit has Nishat Power reported from NexGen?
For the nine months ended March 31, 2026, Nishat Power reported PKR 391 million as its share of NexGen Auto’s profit. This is Nishat Power’s equity-accounted share for that reporting period—not NexGen’s standalone total profit and not a full-year figure. Nishat Power’s Directors’ Review Report called the investment’s early performance encouraging, writing: “This investment has started to yield encouraging results, during the quarter ended 31 March 2026.” That is the company’s assessment of the interim result, not a guarantee of future earnings. What does this mean for Nishat Power?
Nishat Power is known for power generation, while its NexGen investment gives it minority exposure to an automobile business that includes new-energy vehicles. The disclosed investment amount, ownership share and interim profit contribution show that the stake had begun contributing to Nishat Power’s reported results by March 2026. They do not establish future returns, vehicle demand or commercial success for NexGen.

Nishat Power’s FY2026 annual results and annual report appear in the exchange’s announcement record, but the NexGen-specific updates in those materials have not been verified here. What is not yet established?
- NexGen’s current vehicle delivery volumes, model-by-model specifications, sales and market share are not established by the cited filings.
- The disclosures cited here do not verify whether the planned Chery activities are all operational or whether the partnership has changed since 2025.
- The reported interim share of profit is evidence of a contribution in that period, not proof of recurring earnings or future market adoption.
