What is the Mazda CX-60 Rally Concept?
At Mazda’s Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 press conference, MAZDA SPIRIT RACING representative Ikuo Maeda described the displayed CX-60 as a sports-SUV “Rally Concept” proposal. Car Watch reported that the concept incorporated World Rally Championship elements. That is secondary reporting about its styling or inspiration; it does not mean Mazda announced a WRC entry. Car Watch’s report on the concept reveal does not establish competition participation.
Is it the third Spirit Racing model?
The reviewed official Mazda material does not call the CX-60 Rally Concept the third Spirit Racing model or explain what “third” would count. Mazda’s January 9, 2026 announcement names three vehicles for its 2026 Super Taikyu Series program, but none is the CX-60 Rally Concept:

Mazda says the first two are development vehicles. Its 2026 Super Taikyu announcement says the entries continue from 2025 and describes the ST-Q class as a setting to demonstrate environmental and future vehicle technologies. Those entries are separate from the CX-60 concept.
How does it differ from Mazda’s documented racing program?
Mazda’s Sustainability Report 2025 identifies the Spirit Racing 3 Future concept as Mazda3-based, with a SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine, and the Spirit Racing RS Future concept as Roadster-based, with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine. Mazda’s overview of its 2026 Super Taikyu activity describes continued trials involving carbon-neutral fuels and carbon capture on its development vehicles.
