What’s included in a Take 5 oil change?
Take 5 describes its standard oil-change service as work performed on the vehicle plus a few checks. Its oil-change FAQ lists the following:
- Oil drain and refill: The used oil is drained and replaced according to the vehicle manufacturer’s requirements. Take 5 says it considers the vehicle’s needs and driving habits when helping select oil; the appropriate type and amount depend on the vehicle.
- Oil filter replacement: The oil filter is replaced as part of the oil change.
- Fluid top-offs: Take 5 describes complimentary fluid checks and top-offs. A location FAQ names antifreeze/coolant, washer fluid, and power-steering fluid. These are topped off as needed; that does not mean every fluid is replenished at every visit.
- Tire-pressure check: Tire pressure is checked during the service.
- Air-filter and wiper inspection: Staff check the air filters and wipers and may recommend replacement if needed. The inspection is part of the listed oil-change service; replacement is a separate service.
What is checked versus replaced?
The distinction matters: the oil and oil filter are changed, while air filters and wipers are inspected. If Take 5 recommends replacing one of those items, ask whether it is an additional service and what it will cost before authorizing the work. Take 5’s stated approach is, “We recommend, you decide. No pressure.”
How long does a Take 5 oil change take?
Take 5 advertises that most oil changes take about 10 minutes. That is the company’s typical estimate, not a guaranteed completion time; actual time can vary with shop conditions and the work needed. The company also describes its oil changes as stay-in-your-car and appointment-free. Details appear on its services page.

Which services are separate or location-dependent?
Air- or cabin-filter replacement, wiper replacement, coolant exchange, inspections, and emissions testing are among the other services Take 5 offers; they are not all included in the standard oil-change checklist. Availability varies by shop. Take 5 says inspections and emissions testing are offered only at participating locations and depend on state and local requirements. Check with your local shop about availability and any added cost before the work is done.
