DriveIndex says its auction-results data cover 18 verified sales across four model years through September 9, 2026. The $126,000 and $149,000 figures are its reported examples. The fourth-generation average and reported high are attributed by Autoblog to CLASSIC.COM in September 2026; Autoblog identifies the $198,000 high as a January 2025 sale. These figures come from secondary market sources and describe different samples, so they should not be combined into a value range for all generations.
How much is the 1967 Shelby Super Snake worth?
A reliable current dollar value for the original 1967 Super Snake Mustang is not established by the available official source. Shelby American describes it as a single car built for Goodyear high-speed tire testing. Power choices and warranty
Shelby’s January 9, 2026 announcement lists the 5.0L Super Snake with either 480 horsepower or 830+ horsepower. The 830+ figure is stated as flywheel horsepower using 93-octane fuel in the United States. The announcement says the supercharger is available for post-title sales only; do not assume every 2026 car has the supercharged output.
Shelby says the Ford powertrain warranty remains intact and describes a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty for the 2026 car. Check the coverage and current terms for the specific vehicle before buying.

Why modern Super Snake prices differ
A benchmark is only useful when the comparison cars are genuinely similar. Shelby’s 2025 brochure shows configurations including manual or automatic transmission and coupe or convertible chassis. For a particular car, record the details that affect whether a sale is comparable:
- Model year and generation.
- Body style and transmission.
- Mileage and condition.
- Modifications and their documentation.
- Build and provenance records.

How to estimate a specific Super Snake
- Identify the car. Establish its exact year and whether it is a Shelby-built post-title package, a documented special edition, or the unique 1967 prototype.
- Verify its records. Shelby American says its vehicles are documented in the official Shelby Registry. Use build and registry documentation as an identification and provenance check; registration alone does not set a sale price.
- Find completed sales in the closest cohort. Compare the same generation and, where possible, similar body style, transmission, mileage, condition, and modification history. Do not treat an asking price as a completed sale.
- Keep unlike figures separate. MSRP, a reported auction result, a dealer offer, an asking price, and a professional appraisal are not interchangeable measures.
- Label the evidence. State who published each figure, its date or data-through date, and which model years it covers. Short sales series do not establish a future price trend.
Shelby American says it is integrating its vehicles into Black Book valuations to help dealers price, appraise, and transact them and to help lenders and buyers understand market value. Black Book and CLASSIC.COM can serve as valuation references, but neither reference is a guaranteed selling price.
