It combined a central driving position with a planned mid-mounted V8 and composite monocoque. But announcements of production and racing plans are not proof that those plans happened: the available historical accounts do not establish a production total or confirm that customers can buy one today.
What was the MBR EOS?
MBR was MB Roadcars, a British company that developed the EOS. The car drew attention for its three-seat layout: the driver sat in the middle, in a configuration associated with the McLaren F1. A 2007 retrospective specifies that the two passenger seats were behind the central driver; earlier contemporary reports establish the central driving position and three seats but are less precise about where the passengers sat. Autogen.pl’s 2007 MBR V8 page
The project also emphasized motorsport and aerospace-derived construction. New Atlas’s 2005 show report described a composite monocoque and F1-influenced aerodynamics. MB Roadcars founder Michael Blaize, identified by Grandprix.com as an F1 aerodynamicist, described the EOS as a car that “brings together the very best of motorsport and aerospace technologies into a distinctive and elegant concept” in that publication’s January 2005 article. Grandprix.com, January 2005
How the project developed
2005: a show car and proposed engine deal
New Atlas reported the EOS at Monaco’s Top Marques show in 2005, describing it as a three-seat, central-driver supercar with a composite monocoque. The article also named companies associated with components and manufacturing, including Alcon for brakes, Primary Designs for the exhaust, Toyo for tyres, Dymag for wheels, Aerotrim for the interior, Jetblades for manufacturing, and Panther Composites for composites. These are historical associations, not confirmation of current support or supply. New Atlas, 2005

In May 2005, Autocar reported that MB Roadcars had announced an engine supply deal with Geneva-based Mader Racing for an all-alloy 4.0-litre V8 based on a GP2 unit. Autocar described output of about 500 bhp as a target, rather than a settled production specification. Autocar, May 2005
2006: a more developed specification and future plans
A January 2006 New Atlas account described a 550 bhp V8, a composite monocoque, a six-speed gearbox, pushrod-actuated inboard suspension, and a target weight below 1,000 kg. It said a pre-production car or rolling prototype and a Le Mans programme were planned. Those were plans reported at the time; the account does not establish that either milestone was completed. It also names a Mecachrome V8, unlike Autocar’s 2005 report of a Mader Racing engine agreement. The sources do not resolve whether the engine supplier or configuration changed. 2007: the MBR V8 retrospective
A 2007 Autogen.pl page calls the car the MBR V8 and lists a 4.0-litre V8 producing 558 PS, 410 Nm, a six-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, and a mass of 950 kg. It gives claimed acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 365 km/h. These are figures from that retrospective, not independently established test results. The same page lists a period price of £399,500 and planned production of 20 cars per year; neither figure establishes a current price or the number of cars actually built. Autogen.pl, 2007
Why do reported specifications differ?
The figures belong to reports from different stages of a project whose production specification is not firmly established in the available accounts. They should not be combined into one definitive specification.

| Reported detail | Historical account | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Engine output | About 500 bhp, Autocar, May 2005 | Reported target for the proposed 4.0-litre V8. |
| Engine output | 550 bhp, New Atlas, January 2006 | Output stated in a later development account. |
| Engine output | 558 PS, Autogen.pl, 2007 | Output listed in the retrospective MBR V8 specification. |
| Engine supplier | Mader Racing, Autocar, 2005; Mecachrome, New Atlas, 2006 | The reports differ; the available accounts do not explain whether the supplier or engine configuration changed. |
| Mass | Around or below 1,000 kg, 2005–2006 reports; 950 kg, Autogen.pl, 2007 | The earlier figures are targets; 950 kg is the later page’s listed specification. |
| Performance | About 200 mph or approximately 325 km/h in early coverage; 365 km/h maximum in the 2007 retrospective | These are differently dated claims, not interchangeable verified test results. |
Power units also differ: bhp and PS are not identical measures. More importantly, the dates and status of each figure matter. A target in a contemporary announcement and a specification in a later retrospective do not by themselves prove what a customer car delivered.
Was the MBR V8 ever produced?
The evidence supports a cautious answer: the project was publicly shown and described in development, but mass production is not established. A 2010 retrospective grouped the EOS among supercars that never reached mass production. That is consistent with the absence of a verified production total in the historical accounts, but it does not establish that no individual completed car ever existed. Autocar, May 2005 Wired, 2010

There is a notable tension in the record: the 2007 Autogen.pl page describes the MBR V8 as offered for sale and gives a planned annual output of 20 cars, while the 2010 retrospective says it never reached mass production. An offer or production plan is not proof of completed customer deliveries. The sources do not establish how many cars, if any, were completed for customers.

Current sale listings, company status, and MBR-specific parts availability are not established by the historical accounts cited here. The 2007 price of £399,500 is a period figure, not a current valuation or evidence of a live listing. A 2005 New Atlas report also mentioned a planned EOS-exclusive limited-edition watch by Martin Braun, but that historical mention does not establish that the watch is available now. New Atlas, 2005
