That changed before the series ended. History’s seventh season dropped Rick Dale and his crew as the central focus and followed several unrelated restoration businesses instead.
The original cast did not reunite afterward, and Rick’s Restorations is no longer operating in its familiar television form. Some cast members stayed close to fabrication and restoration, while others moved into different businesses. For several former employees, however, reliable information about their current lives is limited.

The show changed before it actually ended
American Restoration premiered on October 25, 2010. Its original episodes followed Rick Dale, his family, and the crew at Rick’s Restorations in Las Vegas. The shop handled unusual restoration jobs, including vintage service-station equipment, signs, vending machines, motorcycles, and automotive-related collectibles.
The familiar format did not continue through the finale. For Season 7, History replaced the Las Vegas-centered storyline with episodes focused on five other restoration businesses operated by Bodie Stroud, Dale Walksler, Andy Bowman Jr., Steve Hale, and Bob Halliday. Rick Dale and his original crew were no longer the show’s central cast. The series concluded on April 1, 2016.

Rick Dale: from a large television shop to smaller creative work
Rick Dale became the public face of Rick’s Restorations, but the Las Vegas business seen on television is no longer operating. A November 2025 report from the Las Vegas Advisor said the location had closed permanently, although it did not establish the exact closure date.
After the show, Dale’s work shifted toward smaller-scale fabrication and creative projects rather than the large restoration operation associated with the series. He and his wife, Kelly Dale, have been associated with My Best Font Forward, a Las Vegas business producing laser-cut décor, personalized gifts, embroidery, and related products.
A 2021 profile from Full Spectrum Laser identified Kelly as the owner and operator and described Rick’s involvement with the laser work. Dale also published Classic Soda Machines in 2014, while American Restoration was still on the air.
There is no reliable public statement proving that Rick was fired, rejected a specific multimillion-dollar contract, or had a documented dispute with History executives. Those claims circulate online, but they should not be treated as established facts without a statement from Dale, History, or the production company.

Kelly Dale: real estate, administration, and custom products
Kelly Dale handled much of the business side of Rick’s Restorations during the original run. Her responsibilities included finances, purchasing, payroll, and customer relations—work that was less visible than the grinding, painting, and mechanical restoration shown on camera.
After the series, Kelly continued working in real estate and remained involved with My Best Font Forward. The business focuses on personalized products, laser work, and embroidery rather than operating as a replacement for Rick’s former restoration shop.

Tyler Dale, Rick’s son, has continued working on vehicles and fabrication projects, but there is no verified evidence that he took over Rick’s former shop as a functioning, television-style business.
In an April 29, 2026 feature from Restomod Air/Restomod Films, Tyler discussed his current work and a long-term 1965 Ford F-100 project. He had owned the truck since high school and worked on it between other obligations.
That project fits the broad direction of Tyler’s post-show career: hands-on automotive work, fabrication, and personal builds carried out with a much lower public profile than during American Restoration. The available reporting does not establish that he runs a new version of Rick’s Restorations.

Brettly Otterman built a surface-restoration business
Brettly Otterman—Kelly’s son and Rick’s stepson—moved into commercial and industrial surface restoration. Current professional listings identify him as the owner of Clean Works Mobile Media Blasting in the Las Vegas area.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Media blasting uses an abrasive or blasting medium to remove rust, paint, corrosion, graffiti, and accumulated grime from a surface. That makes Otterman’s present work related to what viewers saw on the show, but the business is different from a traditional restoration shop. It is mobile and commercial, serving industrial equipment, vehicles, architectural surfaces, and other objects.
Otterman is also associated with Las Vegas Dry Ice Blasting. His professional profile describes work involving industrial machinery, vehicles, historic objects, and decorative surfaces. In other words, he stayed in a restoration-adjacent trade, but he did not reopen Rick’s Restorations.
What is known about the rest of the original crew?
The former employees who were not members of the Dale family have a much thinner current public record. Several websites repeat claims about their later jobs or locations, but those claims are not backed by current interviews, official business pages, or comparable primary sources.
| Cast member | Role on the show | What can be responsibly said now |
|---|---|---|
| Ron Dale | Rick’s younger brother; picker and delivery worker | His current occupation and location are not reliably documented. Claims that he builds custom bicycles or works at a particular Las Vegas-area business remain unverified. |
| Kevin “Kowboy” Lowery | Metal polishing and woodworking | Recent reliable sources do not establish his current occupation, location, or retirement status. |
| Kyle Astorga | Disassembly, reassembly, and finishing work | There is no sufficiently reliable current source confirming his occupation or location. Stories that he became a professional hunter or outfitter should be treated cautiously. |
This lack of information does not mean that these cast members stopped working or left the trades. It means their post-show lives have not been documented well enough to state a specific answer as fact.

What happened to Rick’s Restorations?
Rick’s Restorations did not continue as the on-screen business after History changed the show’s format. The original shop has now closed permanently, according to the Las Vegas Advisor’s 2025 report.
The closure does not mean every member of the Dale family abandoned restoration-related work. Rick and Kelly remained associated with custom fabrication and personalized products, Tyler continued automotive projects, and Brettly developed a separate mobile media-blasting operation. Those are independent directions, not a continuation of the old television shop.
Why the cast’s post-show careers are difficult to track
Reality television creates a strong impression that the people on screen remain part of a permanent public business. In this case, the show’s production format, the shop’s later closure, and the cast members’ move toward private or smaller ventures made that impression misleading.
There is also a difference between restoring a vehicle or machine privately and running a business that welcomes customers, takes commissions, and operates under the old shop name. Tyler’s F-100 project and Brettly’s blasting company show continued technical work, but neither proves that Rick’s Restorations continued in its televised form.

The Bottom Line
The original American Restoration cast did not reunite for another long-running series. Rick Dale’s former shop closed, while Rick and Kelly Dale moved toward custom products and fabrication. Tyler Dale continued automotive projects, and Brettly Otterman built a separate mobile media-blasting business. The current lives of Ron Dale, Kevin “Kowboy” Lowery, and Kyle Astorga are not reliably documented, so popular online claims about them should be regarded as unverified.
