A 55-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a Toyota Hilux at the intersection of Phillips and Coppin roads near Mundaring, Western Australia, shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday, 4 November 2018. Contemporary reports said the rider was taken to hospital by ambulance and died soon after.
What happened at Phillips and Coppin roads?
PerthNow reported that the motorcycle and Toyota Hilux collided at the intersection near Mundaring shortly before 11 a.m. The West Australian published a substantially similar account on the same day.
The reports identified the rider as 55 years old but did not name the rider. They said the motorcyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance and died soon after from injuries sustained in the collision.
What was known about the investigation?
PerthNow reported on 4 November 2018 that “Major crash officers are investigating.” That describes the status reported at the time; the available reports do not establish a later investigation outcome.
