It’s a 1999 Ducati ST4, transformed by Revival Cycles into a one-off sidecarcross machine. It is not a factory Ducati motocross model: the build pairs the ST4’s road-going base with a custom sidecar and extensive engine, cooling, electrical, suspension and bodywork changes.
What is the Ducati donor?
The donor is a 1999 Ducati ST4, a sports-tourer produced from 1999 to 2005. New Atlas’s January 27, 2025 feature identifies the ST4 as the starting point for Revival Cycles’ custom conversion. Its account describes the stock engine as a 916cc desmodromic V-twin; Revival reportedly enlarged it to 996cc.

These are figures and details reported in New Atlas’s feature, not independently tested specifications for the finished machine. In particular, the stated weight excludes the sidecar, so it should not be read as the complete outfit’s weight.
How was the sidecar outfit built?
The sidecar is a fabricated structure, not a stock Ducati attachment. New Atlas reports that the radiator, oil cooler and lithium-ion battery were relocated into it. The build also received a custom fuel tank and saddle, plus a Motogadget M-Unit rewiring component.

Revival’s bespoke bodywork includes a radiator panel, fork guards, headlamp surround and sidecar fender. The motocross fenders, by contrast, came from a Honda SL350, according to New Atlas. The feature does not provide fabrication drawings or establish that the components are interchangeable with standard ST4 parts.
What suspension, tires and brakes does it use?
New Atlas names a 48-mm WP inverted fork and a fully adjustable Öhlins shock. The reported tires are Metzeler Karoo 3s. Braking hardware consists of two 320-mm front discs with four-piston calipers and a single 245-mm rear rotor with a two-piston caliper.

New Atlas reproduces Revival Cycles’ statement that, after rewiring and upgrading the fuel, braking and suspension systems, the bike weighed just over 380 lb (172 kg) without the sidecar. The same feature puts the factory ST4 at over 521 lb. The quote is attributed to Revival through New Atlas; the linked Revival page was not directly verified. Because the custom sidecar is excluded, the 380-lb figure is not the ready-to-ride weight of the full sidecarcross machine.
